The General Community Manager is the senior onsite leader responsible for one large asset or a small cluster of communities, with overall accountability for operations, financial performance, service standards, asset condition, and team development. This position is currently expected through December of 2026 with opportunity to change.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all onsite business operations for the assigned community or communities
- Set performance standards for leasing, office, and maintenance teams
- Own budget execution, financial reporting, rent strategy, and collections
- Drive resident satisfaction, service recovery, and operational excellence
- Ensure capital planning, asset preservation, and preventive maintenance execution
- Partner with regional leadership and ownership/client stakeholders
- Develop talent and maintain a strong accountability culture
- Effectively manage deadlines and priorities in a fast past environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in a residential Property Manager or General Manager role
- Strong budget management and financial reporting experience
- Proven success hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management ability
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience with fee-managed or third-party assets
- Experience leading large or multiple communities
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Executive level leadership and organizational communication skills
- Strong strategic planning and stakeholder communication abilities
- Ability to lead large teams and communicate operational expectations effectively
- Excellent client, ownership, and regional partnership communication skills
- Strong crisis management and conflict resolution communication abilities

- Strong presentation, negotiation, and business communication skills
- Ability to communicate financial and operational performance clearly to diverse audiences
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
- Expert-level proficiency with property management, operational, and financial systems
- Advanced reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis technology skills
- Strong proficiency with Yardi, Entrata, OneSite, or equivalent enterprise platforms
- Ability to analyze portfolio performance metrics and operational KPIs
- Experience managing capital project tracking and preventive maintenance systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, reporting, and presentation software skills
- Familiarity with revenue management, business intelligence, and operational dashboard tools
- Ability to leverage technology to improve operational performance, communication, and resident experience

- May require local travel between communities

- Following six (6) months of employment at the Company, you will be eligible per birth, adoption or placement of a child for four (4) weeks of paid parental leave as the primary caregiver to the child or two weeks of paid parental leave as the secondary caregiver to the child. Following two years of employment at the Company, you will be eligible for twelve weeks of paid parental leave per birth, adoption, or placement of a child if you are the primary caregiver of the child.
- Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $5,000 per year of pre-approved tuition expenses will be reimbursed upon submission of approved documentation. Repayment obligations may apply if employment terminates prior to 24 months.
