Full Job Description

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate BSN with a minimum of two years of outpatient pediatric primary care office experience to join our team as a Pediatric Advice Nurse. This position focuses on providing clinical guidance to parents and caregivers by phone in the office and through electronic communication, and care coordination to support providers in delivering high-quality pediatric care in office. The ideal candidate has strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy pediatric practice.

Requirements:

Provide telephone triage and clinical advice to parents and caregivers regarding pediatric health concerns using established protocols
Communicate clearly with families regarding treatment plans, medications, and home care instructions

• Document all patient interactions and clinical advice in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system• Respond to patient portal messages and clinical inquiries in a timely manner

Coordinate same-day sick appointments based on clinical assessment and provider availability
Assist providers with reviewing and communicating lab results, test results, and follow-up care instructions
Process and manage prescription refill requests according to provider guidelines
Monitor and manage patient messages, clinical calls, and follow-ups to ensure continuity of care
Collaborate with pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and office staff regarding patient care needs
Provide patient and family education on pediatric illnesses, medications, vaccines, and preventive care
Always maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
Support office workflow and assist with care coordination, referrals, and care management when needed
Complete various childcare and school health forms.
Write letter of medical necessity for insurance, accommodation and any other required correspondence.

Qualifications

Active PA Registered Nurse (BSN) license in good standing
Minimum of two (2) years of pediatric experience in a medical office setting required
Experience with telephone triage in a pediatric practice preferred
Strong knowledge of common pediatric illnesses, medications, and developmental stages
Excellent communication, documentation, and patient education skills
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Ability to multitask, prioritize patient needs, and work in a fast-paced office environment
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
