Position Summary
Green Truck’s Cannabis Consultants are the frontline experts delivering an exceptional retail experience rooted in product knowledge, personalized service, and genuine connection. More than just order-takers, Cannabis Consultants are educators, problem-solvers, and brand ambassadors who help customers navigate the ever-evolving world of cannabis with clarity and confidence.
This role is responsible for providing warm, informed, and efficient service to every customer—whether answering questions, building personalized recommendations, or assembling and finalizing orders with accuracy. Cannabis Consultants are expected to maintain deep familiarity with Green Truck’s product offerings, stay up to date on cannabis trends, and ensure that every transaction reflects our core values of integrity, commitment, and innovation.
Cannabis Consultants work across a hybrid retail environment that includes full-service interactions, online pre-orders, and self-serve kiosks. Whether assisting a first-time visitor or a seasoned connoisseur, this role ensures that every guest feels welcomed, supported, and well-informed throughout their Green Truck experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide an exceptional customer experience through warm, knowledgeable, and efficient service across all interaction types: in-store, online orders, phone calls, and third-party platforms such as Weedmaps.
- Collaborate effectively with the Retail Store Manager and team members to ensure smooth daily operations and alignment with store goals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace that meets compliance standards and delivers a polished, professional environment for guests.
- Verify customer identification and medical certifications (when applicable) in accordance with Maine cannabis regulations and internal procedures.
- Accurately fulfill and package customer orders, applying all promotions and loyalty rewards correctly in the POS system and ensuring all transactions are recorded and reconciled with precision.
- Consistently restock sales floor and backstock areas, maintaining product visibility and proactively reporting low inventory to support timely replenishment.
- Support inventory organization and assist with cycle counts as directed by store leadership; report discrepancies or labeling issues to the inventory or management team.
- Flag outdated or inaccurate product listings (e.g., Weedmaps or kiosk menus) and communicate discrepancies to the appropriate team.
- Support visual merchandising by maintaining clean, organized, and well-labeled displays that highlight key product categories and seasonal promotions.
- Respond to customer questions with professionalism and clarity, whether in person or by phone, always reinforcing Green Truck’s standards for service and education.
- Share knowledgeable, compliant guidance on cannabis products including strain types, consumption methods, cannabinoid profiles, and potential effects to help customers make informed decisions.
- Assist with order prep, bagging, and in-store labeling as needed to support front-of-house efficiency.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing retail environment by completing other duties as assigned in support of company goals.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a high-volume retail environment
- Cannabis retail experience preferred but not required
- Familiarity with METRC, Maine cannabis laws, and compliance procedures strongly preferred
Technical Proficiency
- Comfortable using point-of-sale systems (e.g., Flowhub) and digital menus (e.g., Weedmaps)
- Experience with inventory tracking systems, including METRC
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to learn new systems quickly
Physical, Availability & Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid government-issued ID
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Must meet all requirements for valid RIC and IIC identification cards issued by the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely
- Comfortable working in environments with strong cannabis odors, kief, and standard cleaning products
- Must have open availability during store operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and designated holidays
- Required to sign an employment agreement that includes confidentiality and non-compete provisions
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay
This is a non-exempt, full-time position starting at $17–$20 per hour plus tips, based on experience, qualifications, and performance. Cannabis Consultants are eligible for performance-based raises and incentives tied to key performance indicators (KPIs), including customer satisfaction, order accuracy, compliance adherence, and team contribution.
