The Opportunity
Lakeside Companies is an entrepreneurial family firm in the Inland Northwest with a portfolio spanning hospitality, real estate, specialty manufacturing, and more. We invest in industries with strong fundamentals and meaningful community ties — and we take our operating assets seriously.
We’re looking for an experienced golf and hospitality operator to serve as Lakeside’s ownership representative across our Golf Course, Pro Shop, and Restaurant in the Coeur d’Alene area. This is not a department-manager role. You will own financial performance, protect brand standards, drive value creation, and partner directly with executive leadership — with real autonomy and real accountability.
If you’ve run a golf operation, managed multiple hospitality concepts simultaneously, and know how to build systems that hold up without you in the room — this role was built for you.
- You’ll work directly with Lakeside leadership — not inside a corporate layer.
- You’ll have the autonomy to build, fix, and improve — not just maintain.
- Strong performance here opens the door to multi-asset oversight as Lakeside grows.
- Coeur d’Alene: one of the most sought-after communities in the Inland Northwest.
What You’ll Own
Financial Performance & Value Creation
-
Revenue, margin, and EBITDA/NOI across the golf course, restaurant, pro shop, and F&B operations
-
Annual operating budgets and rolling forecasts for each asset
-
Pricing, product mix, merchandising, and cost control opportunities
-
F&B margin improvement through vendor strategy, menu optimization, and inventory discipline
-
Pro shop retail margin through assortment, pricing strategy, and inventory turn management
-
Capital improvement evaluation, prioritization, and recommendation
Operations — Through Your Management Teams
-
Service standards, operational consistency, and KPI accountability across all assets
-
Structured reporting rhythms: daily snapshots, weekly dashboards, monthly performance reviews
-
Staffing strategy, hiring standards, and manager-level leadership development
-
Scalable operating systems across F&B and retail that hold up without constant oversight
Guest Experience & Brand
-
Brand standards across the restaurant and pro shop environments
-
Online reputation management and guest feedback systems
-
Seasonal promotions and event programming that complement and elevate the golf experience
-
The full guest journey — from arrival through pro shop and dining
Facility & Asset Stewardship
-
Facility condition, capital planning, and preventative maintenance strategy
-
Seasonal demand optimization specific to the Coeur d’Alene market
-
Alignment between golf course operations and the broader guest and community experience
Who You Are
You’re an operator who has done this before — someone who has run a golf facility, managed multiple hospitality concepts, and delivered measurable financial results. You think like an owner because you’ve been trusted to act like one.
Experience
-
7+ years of progressive operations or general management in golf, hospitality, F&B, or multi-concept retail — with direct P&L ownership
-
3+ years of accountability for EBITDA, NOI, or operating margin — not simply a cost center or revenue line
-
Golf course operations experience at the GM, Director, or ownership-representative level is strongly preferred and will be weighted heavily
-
Demonstrated experience managing operations through managers — setting standards, building systems, and holding teams accountable
-
Experience reporting to or working alongside ownership, a board, or a family office environment
Financial & Analytical
-
Build and manage multi-line operating budgets and rolling forecasts independently
-
P&L, COGS, labor reporting, and inventory reconciliation
-
Develop KPI dashboards and structured reporting that give ownership real-time visibility
-
Capital planning, ROI analysis, and investment recommendations
Operational
-
Design and implement scalable operating systems — not just manage existing ones
-
Vendor management, contract negotiation, and procurement strategy
-
Pro shop retail: assortment, pricing, and inventory turn
-
Seasonal golf market dynamics in a northern climate
Leadership & Communication
-
Develop manager-level talent through coaching, feedback, and goal-setting
-
Distill operational complexity into clear ownership-level reporting
-
Represent ownership professionally in guest, community, and vendor settings
-
Operate autonomously while staying tightly aligned with leadership
Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Finance, or related field (required)
-
MBA or equivalent graduate business education preferred, particularly for candidates bridging operations and financial performance
-
In lieu of degree: 10+ years of directly relevant multi-unit golf or hospitality operations with demonstrated financial ownership will be considered
Licenses & Certifications
-
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record — multi-site travel required
-
Idaho responsible alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
-
PGA membership, CMAA certification, or equivalent hospitality credential is a plus — not required
Why Lakeside
