We are a long term established agency in a beautiful office in Amherst seeking 3 to 5 Debt Collection Representatives to join our team. **In Person - In Office Only - No Remote positions

**Day shifts only - no nights - no weekends.

Responsibilities

Be prompt and on-time daily - not optional
Manage and maintain assigned accounts
Organize and plan course of action to recover outstanding debts
Locate and contact consumers to inquire on payment status
Negotiate payoff deadlines and payment plans
Professionally handle questions or complaints
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies
Create trusting professional relationships with consumers
Update account statuses and database regularly
Alert superiors of consumer disputes and/or potential complaints
Comply with requirements, rules, laws, and regulations

Skills

Ability to cope with and work in high demand and high stress position
Ability to sit for several hours at a time in a desk/office area
Proven success record as debt recovery specialist
Knowledge of relevant legal requirements
Phone etiquette and customer service experience
Excellent communication and people skills
Skilled in being polite and compassionate while maintaining confidence
Apt in negotiating and persuading
Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines
Basic Mathematical skills
