Under the direction of the Design Manager, the Environmental Graphic Designer collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of sales, designers, fabricators, and installers on environmental design projects that enhance human experiences, create engaging and inviting environments, and thoughtfully solve client challenges within physical spaces. This role requires a highly proactive, creative, and experienced individual who can independently manage projects from concept through final output while maintaining deadlines, quality standards, and production accuracy. In addition, this role contributes to the continued growth of our environmental design capabilities through innovation, collaboration, and technical expertise.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field
Minimum of five (5) years of professional design experience, with at least three (3) years in an environmental graphic design specific role
Strong portfolio showcasing environmental graphic design projects including signage, wayfinding, branded environments, exhibits, or experiential graphics
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with 3D software for project engineering and rendering
Broad understanding of print production processes, fabrication methods, finishing techniques, and file preparation standards
Experience designing tactile signage, braille, and implementing universal design principles for accessibility
Strong understanding of typography, visual communication, and information hierarchy within physical environments
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present ideas, issues, and solutions clearly to both clients and team members
Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable with a strong attention to detail
Positive, dependable, and collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships
Punctual with flexibility to work additional hours as needed

Responsibilities

Execute and manage environmental graphic design projects from concept through final production and installation consultation while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
Conceptualize and create effective, production-ready designs for interior and exterior wayfinding systems, ADA signage programs, branded environments, exhibits, and environmental graphics
Collaborate with sales, design, and production teams to ensure solutions align with client goals, budgets, timelines, and fabrication capabilities
Prepare accurate production-ready files, scaled layouts, and documentation for print and fabrication
Assist in overseeing the end-to-end production process from design approval through fabrication and installation support
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while effectively tracking time, budgets, and resource allocation
Ensure all deliverables align with client brand standards and maintain high levels of accuracy, consistency, and quality
Review and proof materials prior to production while troubleshooting design and production challenges as they arise
Stay current on industry trends, fabrication technologies, materials, and environmental graphic design best practices
Recommend and help implement new tools, workflows, and processes that improve team efficiency and creative capabilities

Additional experience that would be great:

Exposure to architectural and interior design workflows, philosophy, and practices
Knowledge of sustainable materials and environmentally conscious production practices
Understanding of common building codes and regulations
Understanding and adherence to ADA standards and accessibility requirements
Sketching, rendering, or conceptual presentation skills
Experience collaborating on experiential, architectural, or large-scale branded environments
