Full Job Description

About the Role

You’ve just walked out of the bar exam. You’re sharp, ambitious, and ready to fight. If you're looking to coast into a cushy gig where you'll be pushing papers and grabbing coffee, this ain't it. We're looking for a Post-Bar Law Clerk who wants to jump into the deep end of high-stakes litigation and earn their stripes before the ink is dry on their law license.

Here, you won’t just observe the action—you’ll be part of it. You’ll draft motions that matter, prep witnesses for real depositions, and help with trials where the stakes are high and the margins are thin. When your license comes through, you’ll already be battle-tested and ready to roll with an opportunity to excel at a fast-paced, feared personal injury law firm.

The Daspit Law Firm is a mid-sized and fast-paced plaintiff’s firm with offices throughout Texas and in Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. The Daspit Law Firm handles a wide variety of injury cases, including car accidents, construction accidents, oil field accidents, industrial accidents, plant & refinery accidents, and more. Daspit Law Firm offers frequent courtroom experience with the opportunity for courtroom appearances during all stages of litigation.

What You'll Be Doing

Drafting memoranda, motions, pleadings, and correspondence that actually get filed and argued.
Supporting case strategy by conducting deep-dive legal research—no fluff, no copy-paste.
Preparing for and attending depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
Sitting in on client meetings, strategy sessions, and war room discussions—real lawyering, not shadowing.
Assisting with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness outlines, and jury charges.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with attorneys who take on big cases and expect big things.

Position Requirements

· J.D. from an accredited law school.

· Recently sat for the bar exam (awaiting results or licensure).

· Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Candidates will be required to communicate with clients by phone, email, and in person.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Exceptional attention to detail.

· Legal research, writing, and editing skills.

· Candidates must be self-motivated, task-oriented, and capable of managing a docket with multiple cases.

· Strong organizational and time management skills are also required.

· Demonstrated interest in personal injury law is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: The compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience in the personal injury industry. Starting pay for this position is $25.00 per hour.

Work Location: In person inHouston, Texas.
