Location: Lakeland, FL (Tampa/Orlando area); up to 100% remote Employment type: Contract, 90-day period of performance Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required Clearance: Active Secret clearance required

About the role

We are looking for a Resident Architect and Technical Delivery Consultant to lead an Amazon Neptune knowledge graph engagement. Over a focused 90-day period of performance, you will design, build, and optimize a graph solution using Amazon Neptune, RDF/OWL ontologies, and SPARQL, all aimed at Aeronautics and RMS use cases in a non-production environment. The work is hands-on and collaborative. You will sit alongside the customer's data engineering teams, weave Generative AI into the ontology layer, and run training so that when the engagement ends, the customer can carry the platform forward without you. What you'll do

Develop and refine ontologies for Aeronautics and RMS use cases.
Design and implement federated query mechanisms across materialized ontologies in Amazon Neptune and virtual knowledge graphs (Ontop).
Write SPARQL queries that answer specific competency questions across multiple business domains.
Configure Neptune instances with appropriate security models in non-production environments.
Design and deploy data security models and deployment architectures.
Integrate Generative AI capabilities with ontology structures for query and reasoning.
Run iterative ontology refinement based on domain SME feedback.
Conduct hands-on training sessions on RDF, SPARQL, and Neptune.
Define ontology maintenance and change control processes.
Produce status reports, production deployment guides, and architecture documentation, and collaborate with engagement management throughout.

What you need

Active Secret clearance.
U.S. citizenship (required).
Experience in data engineering, knowledge representation, or graph databases.
Deep expertise in Amazon Neptune, or an equivalent graph database platform.
Strong proficiency in RDF, OWL, SPARQL, and semantic web technologies.
Experience designing and implementing enterprise ontologies.
Hands-on experience with federated query architectures.
Knowledge of the Industrial Ontologies Foundry (IOF) or similar ontology standards.
Experience with data security model design and IAM configuration in AWS.
Proven ability to design scalable deployment architectures on AWS.
Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and knowledge transfer.
Experience working in regulated or defense industry environments.
Availability for a 90-day, up to fully remote engagement supporting a customer in the Lakeland, FL area.

Nice to have

Experience with Ontop or similar virtual knowledge graph tools.
Familiarity with Supply Chain Reference Ontology (SCRO) standards.
Experience integrating Generative AI with knowledge graphs or ontology systems.
AWS certifications, such as Solutions Architect Professional or Database Specialty.
Experience with manufacturing or supply chain ontology use cases.
Prior experience delivering AWS Professional Services engagements.
Familiarity with aerospace and defense data governance requirements.

Pay: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour
