WE PROVIDE FIVE TYPES OF SERVICES:
- Mid-Day Dog Walking: One visit per day, Monday through Friday between the hours of 11am and 3pm to walk our clients’ dogs while they are at work.
- Off-Leash Pack Adventures: 2-3-hour excursions, Monday through Friday between the hours of 1-4pm, for up to 3 dogs per teammate, to the Beach or local community Dog Park. We pick up our client’s pups and then drop them back off after their half-day of play.
- Pet Sitting: One to four visits per day (morning, mid-day, evening and late evening) to walk, feed, and care for our clients’ pets in their home while they are away.
- House Sitting & Overnight Pet Care: Starts with a 1-hour dinner visit in the evening, followed by a minimum 9-hour overnight stay in our client's home, and a 1-hour morning visit for breakfast.
- Conciërge Services: To help make our clients’ lives and time away from home easier, we offer a variety of add-on, specialty services such as pet supply shopping and pet taxiing to drop off or pick up their furry pals from the groomer or vet.
WHAT IS ESSENTIAL TO WORK WITH 9 TO 5 PETS?
To be considered for this position on our team, you must:
- Live in the Jacksonville Beach/Ponte Vedra Beach service areas.
- Be at least 18 Years Old.
- Have experience with, a love of, and a desire to work with dogs and/or cats and other small animals.
- Love people in addition to animals. This is just as much a customer service position as it is a pet care position.
- Be dedicated and loyal and want to build a long-term relationship with our company and clients. This is NOT a good position for those trying to find interim work while in-between jobs or trying to “figure-out” what their next step is. Our clients come to trust their assigned walker/sitter and appreciate it when they’re able to grow a trusted relationship with that person.
- Have the ability to meet the assigned shifts, be available at least 3 weekends per month, and have the ability to work holidays.
- Be 100% reliable. The pets in your care depend on you.
- Have access to a reliable vehicle, show proof of insurance, and have a valid Florida driver’s license.
- Have the ability to work and commute in all types of weather. This is a VERY active position that requires hours of energy, even on rainy, cold, humid, and hot days.
- Be comfortable walking during regular shift intervals at the pace of the animal in your care.
- Have the ability to walk large dogs as needed that may not have proper leash training.
- Have the ability to stay alert and react to animal behavior.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with 9 to 5 Pets, fellow teammates, and clients, by returning phone calls and messages promptly.
- Be able to access our mobile phone application while performing duties. Having a good quality smartphone (Android 5.0 or iOS 13.0 or later) with a camera that you are comfortable using and taking pictures with is key.
- Have the ability to take this job SERIOUSLY.
- Be organized and detail oriented.
- Be able to provide professional references.
- Provide a current and clean background check to 9 to 5 Pets. (We will provide you with the link to have your background check completed.)
- Be certified in Pet First Aid & CPR. (We will provide you with an online training course if you are not certified.)
- Make a monthly commitment to ongoing education and skill development through our PETSIT Pro online learning program.
POSITIONS WITH 9 TO 5 PETS
Pet Care Professionals hired by 9 to 5 Pets can either be classified as Mid-Day Dog Walkers, Off Leash Adventurers, Pet Sitters/House Sitters, or any combination of the three positions. This is based on your availability and what services you’re interested in offering to our 9 to 5 Pets clients:
Mid-Day Dog Walkers: Must be available to walk dogs, Monday through Friday between the hours of 11AM & 3PM. The number of dogs you’ll walk on any given day will vary based upon the clients’ schedules and when they need pet care. We will not be able to consider those who are only available a few days per week or for only certain hours of the 11-3 time block.
Off Leash Adventurers: Must be available Monday through Friday between the hours of 1PM & 4PM. Must be comfortable and able to handle and safely transport up to 3 dogs in your vehicle at a time to the beach or a local dog park for off leash playtime and socialization with other dogs.
Pet Sitters/ House Sitters: Must be available to work up to (3) weekends per month and either Thanksgiving or Christmas AND either Memorial Day or Labor Day. Pet Sitters visit our clients’ homes multiple times per day, therefore they need to be available for MORNING (7-9AM), MID-DAY (11AM-3PM), EVENING (4-6 PM) & LATE NIGHT (7-9 PM) visits.
COMPENSATION & EARNING POTENTIAL
Hourly Rate: $15-$17 per hour depending on experience. You’ll also keep 100% of your tips and holiday service fees, and depending on your schedule, our teammates typically average between $20–$23 per hour.
Benefits Package: We offer a FT & PT benefits package, including PTO days and a cell phone allowance.
Gratuities: Tips and holiday service fees are 100% yours.
Payroll: Bi-weekly direct deposit.
