Full Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This faculty member will be responsible for teaching a combination of Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus and Financial Literacy to 9th–12th grade students, as well as providing SAT preparation support and tutoring for all students as needed. Additionally, in collaboration with the school administration, they will develop annual plans, unit plans, assessments, and resources for the development of the school’s four-year Math curriculum.

This faculty member will contribute to a positive school culture that promotes growth, resilience, accountability, achievement and professional and spiritual development for all students. They will possess an ambitious vision for academic excellence, an appreciation for systems that support student success, a culturally responsive mindset, and a commitment to collaboration and growth with all stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Design and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in assigned mathematics courses, integrating Cristo Rey Network benchmarks and Florida B.E.S.T. Standards.
Develop and execute coherent annual plans, unit plans, and lesson plans with clear objectives, assessments, and instructional strategies.
Teach effectively across instructional modalities, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid settings.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including advanced coursework (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Financial Literacy).
Implement data-driven instructional practices by analyzing formative and summative assessments to adjust instruction and improve student outcomes.
Use instructional technology purposefully to enhance engagement, access, and mathematical understanding.
Identify student learning needs and provide targeted interventions, scaffolds, and enrichment to support academic growth.
Collaborate with counselors, student support staff, and colleagues to address academic progress and student well-being.
Build strong, respectful relationships with students that foster a safe, inclusive, and high expectations learning environment.
Communicate effectively with families, as appropriate, regarding student progress and academic support strategies.
Actively contribute to the Catholic identity and mission of Cristo Rey Miami through professional conduct, classroom culture, and engagement in school life.
Promote and model a college-preparatory, college-going culture, grounded in the belief that every student can succeed in and beyond college.
Participate in school-wide events, celebrations, and initiatives that strengthen community, recognize student achievement, and reinforce school values.
Serve as a role model of Cristo Rey Miami’s core values and support students’ spiritual and ethical formation.
Engage in ongoing professional development, including required programs such as the Summer Success Institute, to strengthen instructional practice.
Seek, receive, and apply feedback from school leadership and colleagues to continuously improve teaching effectiveness.
Demonstrate initiative in accessing instructional resources and developing content-area expertise.
Support student supervision and coordination during instructional and non-instructional spaces.
Participate in student activities and extracurricular events, as needed, to support school culture.
Assist with student supervision and logistical support for extracurricular activities and school-sponsored events, as assigned.
Support after-school academic or enrichment programs through student supervision and coordination, as needed.
Assume additional duties as assigned by the Principal or President in service of Cristo Rey Miami’s mission and institutional priorities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an academic content area related to position
Valid and current professional educator license (or demonstrated progress towards obtaining)

Preferred Skills

2+ years of relevant teaching experience
Commitment to Catholic, urban education
Effective communication and relationships with families and students
Skilled in providing in-person or remote services to students and families
Skilled problem solver who will meet challenges with creative and effective solutions
Strong ability to track and analyze data to inform decision-making
Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes
Bilingual, Spanish and/or Kreyol preferred
