Family Practice Physician,

Herald Christian Health Center (HCHC) is a faith-based, mission-driven community clinic seeking a Primary Care Physician (Board-Certified or Board-Eligible) to join our team in Los Angeles or San Diego.
We are recognized by The Joint Commission with the Gold Seal of Approval to provide comprehensive care including medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, and acupuncture to low-income and immigrant communities across the San Gabriel Valley and San Diego. Our patients are primarily limited-English proficient immigrants from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Taiwan.

What You’ll Do: Under the guidance of the Medical Director, you will:
A. Direct Care
- Deliver direct primary medical care consistent with certification.
- Manage and maintain a program of comprehensive health for the patients.
- Prepare and review medical histories and obtain data through interviews.
- Examine patients, formulate diagnostic plans, define and order required diagnostic testing.
- Interpret examination findings and test results, and implement treatment plans.
- Prescribe and assess effectiveness of pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate for patient medical conditions.
- Determine need for consultation and assist in medical care and treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.
- Provide supportive and definitive care to patients with primary care appropriate medical conditions, based on documented and demonstrated proficiency.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary care team coordinating primary care, mental health and oral health for the patients.
B. Administrative Duties
- Participate in peer reviews
- Supervise and direct the medical staff including mid-level providers, RNs, LVNs and MAs in the absence of the Medical Director
- Assume the supervisory role over assigned mid-level medical providers (e.g., nurse practitioners, physician assistants) in accordance with applicable state regulations and organizational policies. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing clinical oversight and support to mid-level providers.
- Participating in periodic chart reviews, performance evaluations, and case consultations as needed.
- Being available for collaboration, consultation, and guidance regarding patient care.
- Signing supervisory or collaborative agreements as required by law or organizational policy.
- Ensuring that care provided by supervised providers aligns with the organization’s standards and best practices.
- This supervisory responsibility is a core component of the physician role and is a condition of employment.
- Assist in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and the orientation of medical staff as requested.
- Participate in short and long term program planning for the Medical Department
- Be an on-call provider as rotated.

Requirements:
- MD or DO from accredited medical school
- Completion of an approved residency program
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Primary Care specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Med-Peds)
- Active California Medical License & Current DEA License
- Bilingual in English/Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) or English/Spanish preferred
- Strong communication and cultural competency
- Meet credentialing requirements of HCHC’s Board of Directors
- Knowledge of public health principle is a plus
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $232,960 – $290,000/year
- Sign-on bonus: $5000
- This role qualifies for annual discretionary bonuses or incentives.
