Full Job Description

Wichita Urology’s leadership team is built with individuals who share our values, vision, and commitment to operational excellence. As a member of this team, you will immerse yourself in all aspects of healthcare billing compliance, reporting, and authorizations including urology billing, radiation oncology billing, imaging billing, in-office dispensing, and more.

In this co-management role alongside the Manager of Revenue Cycle & Billing Operations, this position helps oversee daily billing department functions with a focus on compliance, reporting accuracy, and authorization workflows. This role contributes to process improvement, operational alignment, and ongoing departmental success in a fast-paced, evolving environment that requires collaboration, accountability, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Management position responsible for directing and coordinating the overall functions for the medical billing and coding department to maximize cash flow while supporting a positive patient experience and strong physician relations. Coordinates with the Manager of Revenue Cycle & Billing Operations to oversee claims submission, payment posting oversight, charge capture, staff supervision, training, and professional development. Creates and implements policies and procedures designed to improve efficiency, maintain compliance, and support departmental and organizational goals.

Authorizations, Reporting & Compliance:

Oversee authorization processes and tracking for surgeries, PET CT, imaging services (in-house and outside facilities), and medications to ensure timely completion
Maintain the weekly billing update spreadsheet for administration and review the monthly collections report from MedHQ
Manage RAC Audits by CMS, including updating the RAC Audit spreadsheet, notifying physicians of recoupments, and reviewing clinical policies for billing and coding compliance
Keep staff and physicians informed of payer updates and changes
Collaborate with the Manager of Revenue Cycle & Billing Operations on budget planning, biller workflow oversight, and payer guideline reviews to ensure departmental alignment
Cross-train on in-office dispensing (IOD) charges and payments, to support operational coverage and assist the Manager of Revenue Cycle & Billing Operations as needed
Cross-train on reviewing AR to provide secondary oversight and support
Performs additional duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications:

Requires strong managerial, leadership, organizational skills, including critical thinking and the ability to produce and present detailed billing activity reports. Minimum 2 years medical billing and supervisory experience. Must have a thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, PPOs, and private insurance companies, as well as an understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding, EMR, PQRS, and Medicare Quality Initiatives.

Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together
Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing or walking may be required, should be able to transport approximately 0-25lbs of charts or files
