JOB DESCRIPTION:
League Outfitters is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Associate to join our team. The Purchasing Associate will be responsible for placing orders with vendors, following up on orders placed as needed, ensuring the timely delivery of products, and returning products to vendors. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, general understanding of vendor purchasing teams and conditions, and a proven track record with vendor management. This position reports to the Purchasing Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience purchasing from vendors preferred
- Analytical and data-driven decision maker with strong proficiency in working with multiple pieces of software
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Able to take complete ownership of tasks and projects that are assigned.
- Very comfortable working individually and as a team.
- Self-motivated to put in the best effort day in and day out to get the job done.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initiates and maintains purchase orders
- Works closely with requesting departments, providing information and assistance regarding purchasing related matters
- Continually seeks to understand and support customer needs, concerns, and priorities
- Meets or exceed team members and customer expectations and requirements
- Identifies available sources of supply, including alternate vendor products, in the event of back orders. Checks purchase order accuracy and completeness prior to submitting.
- Checks order status or confirmation on open orders to assure timely delivery and performance standards are met
- Contacts team members in the event of a critical product on back order
- Works cooperatively and collaboratively with others toward the accomplishment of shared purchasing / company goals
- Resolve any price discrepancies
- Additional duties as needed
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
- Contacting customers to notify them of order issues
