Full Job Description

Job Purpose:

The primary purpose of the Class A D.O.T. Driver is to transport Maxco Supply's products and materials safely and efficiently to various destinations, complying with all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Safe Transportation:
- Operate Class A transport vehicles to deliver Maxco Supply's products and materials to various destinations.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of products, using appropriate equipment and following safety guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Comply with all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) regulations, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and record-keeping.
- Maintain a valid Class A commercial driver's license and all required certifications.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in optimal working condition.
- Report any mechanical or safety issues to the supervisor and coordinate necessary repairs.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all trips, including route sheets, hours of service logs, and any other required documents.
- Complete and submit all documentation in a timely manner.
Customer Service:
- Provide high-quality customer service when interacting with customers at delivery and pick-up points.
- Address any customer issues or concerns in a professional and efficient manner.
Collaboration:
- Work in coordination with logistics staff, warehouse personnel, and other drivers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Communicate effectively with the transportation team and supervisors to report trip progress and any issues that arise.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
License and Certifications:
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Compliance with all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) regulations and certifications, including medical clearance and DOT required drug/alcohol screening.
- Clean DOT clearinghouse and DMV records acceptable to the Company's insurance provider.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Class A driver in a transportation or logistics environment is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and best practices in transportation safety.
- Ability to perform inspections and basic maintenance of the vehicle.

Competencies:

Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of and adherence to all D.O.T. regulations and company policies.
Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers.

Time Management: Efficient time management and ability to meet delivery schedules.
