Role Summary:
Join a dynamic team driving 24x7 security monitoring, incident escalation, and threat response to help protect critical business operations. In this role, you will analyze security events, guide incident triage, mentor team members, and contribute to improving SOC processes, automation, and machine-speed response. You ll play a key part in identifying threats, recommending security improvements, and supporting incident response efforts across internal teams and stakeholders. Responsibilities:
- Serve as the escalation point for security incidents and provide expert guidance on monitoring improvements
- Lead shift activities as needed and mentor Incident Detection team members
- Triage and investigate security incidents using threat intelligence, IDS, firewalls, and related tools
- Support 24x7 monitoring coverage and participate in an on-call rotation
- Assist with containment, remediation, and incident response coordination
- Conduct threat hunting based on internal and external intelligence
- Create daily/monthly reports and maintain documentation, playbooks, and procedures
- Identify operational gaps and recommend security posture enhancements
- Support automation and agentic SOC development through feedback and feature recommendations
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- 4+ years of experience in Security Operations monitoring
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Experience mentoring or guiding team members in a SOC environment
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-urgency environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience with SIEM/SOC tools such as Sentinel, Splunk, ATP, Symantec Endpoint, TrendMicro, McAfee Web Gateway, Checkpoint Firewalls, Bluecoat, Sourcefire, or Active Directory
- Advanced knowledge of network monitoring and exploitation techniques
- Strong technical background in security, network, infrastructure, cloud, and applications
- Knowledge of common attack vectors and web application threats
- Understanding of network-level protocols such as DNS, HTTP, and SMB
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and documentation tools
Other Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- GCIA, GCFA, GCIH, or CASP certifications are a plus
- Tines or other automation experience is highly valued
