Full Job Description

Position Overview

No business consultants please.....We are seeking an accomplished, highly experienced Spa Director to help launch, build, and lead a luxury wellness facility in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. This is a full time, on location position.

This is a senior leadership role for a proven spa professional with extensive experience managing a successful, high-end spa or wellness business. The ideal candidate combines operational expertise, strong business judgment, exceptional leadership skills, and a genuine passion for creating elevated client experiences.

Please apply only if you are currently serving—or have recently served—in a Spa Director or comparable senior spa leadership position. (Not a Business Consultant) Previous responsibility for spa operations, staff recruitment, team development, revenue growth, and client retention is required. This is not an entry-level management opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the opening, development, and day-to-day operation of the spa
Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain an exceptional team
Create a positive, motivating, and performance-driven workplace culture
Manage staff schedules, coverage, productivity, and daily workflow
Establish and maintain luxury-level service standards
Oversee the complete client experience, from initial contact through follow-up
Develop strategies to increase bookings, client retention, memberships, service revenue, and retail sales
Monitor business performance and identify opportunities for sustainable growth
Manage inventory, product ordering, merchandising, stocking, and vendor relationships
Oversee POS systems, pricing, promotions, reporting, and sales procedures
Train, coach, and evaluate employees to ensure consistently outstanding performance
Address client concerns professionally and protect the spa’s reputation
Maintain compliance with all applicable health, safety, sanitation, and operational regulations
Communicate effectively with clients, employees, vendors, ownership, and other stakeholders

Required Experience and Qualifications

Significant experience as a Spa Director or in a comparable senior leadership role within a luxury spa, med spa, wellness facility, or high-end beauty service business
Demonstrated success building, opening, expanding, or substantially improving a spa operation
Proven responsibility for staff recruitment, training, supervision, scheduling, and performance management
Strong understanding of spa operations, revenue generation, client retention, and retail sales
Experience developing and implementing marketing, membership, and promotional strategies
Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management, pricing, reporting, and operational procedures
Exceptional organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate employees and maintain accountability
Polished, professional demeanor and an unwavering commitment to exceptional client service
Positive, energetic, solutions-oriented leadership style
Knowledge of merchandising, product ordering, stocking procedures, and retail sales techniques

Applicants who do not have substantial Spa Director-level experience will not be considered.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
