Position Summary
Mr. Nice Guy is seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Floor Manager to lead daily retail operations, drive sales performance, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate is a proven retail leader with prior cannabis dispensary experience, strong knowledge of cannabis products and regulations, and the ability to develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
As the Sales Floor Manager, you will oversee sales floor operations, supervise and coach budtenders, maintain compliance with all state and company regulations, and ensure every guest receives outstanding service. You will serve as a role model for professionalism, product knowledge, and customer engagement while helping the store achieve operational and sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support budtenders and sales associates throughout each shift.
- Manage daily sales floor operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and exceptional guest experiences.
- Open and close the dispensary, including cash handling, register reconciliation, and security procedures.
- Monitor staffing levels, break schedules, and task completion to maintain smooth operations.
- Delegate and oversee inventory restocking to ensure products are properly stocked, faced, and displayed.
- Handle customer returns and product issues in accordance with company policy and compliance requirements.
- Ensure all closing procedures, cleaning duties, and operational checklists are completed accurately.
Customer Experience & Sales Performance
- Create a welcoming, guest-focused environment that promotes customer loyalty and repeat business.
- Assist guests with product selection by providing knowledgeable recommendations tailored to their needs and preferences.
- Lead by example in achieving sales goals, upselling opportunities, and customer engagement.
- Coach team members on sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service best practices.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently while maintaining a positive guest experience.
Team Development & Leadership
- Train, mentor, and develop budtenders to improve performance, confidence, and product expertise.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct ongoing coaching and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Support management in implementing company initiatives, promotions, and operational objectives.
- Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
Compliance & Inventory Management
- Ensure strict adherence to all state cannabis regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Verify customer identification and eligibility requirements in compliance with applicable laws.
- Maintain accurate inventory practices, including restocking, cycle counts, and inventory documentation.
- Assist with inventory audits and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Ensure all cannabis products are stored, displayed, and tracked according to regulatory requirements.
Communication & Reporting
- Communicate shift updates, operational concerns, customer feedback, and staffing issues to management.
- Document and report cash variances, inventory discrepancies, incidents, and compliance concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required administrative tasks in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in the cannabis dispensary.
- Minimum 1 year of leadership, supervisory, lead, or management experience in a retail environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong understanding of cannabis products, industry trends, and state compliance regulations.
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive sales performance, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Experience with cash handling, POS systems, inventory management, and daily retail operations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to access all areas of the store as needed to support guests and staff.
Schedule Requirements
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Minimum availability of 30 hours per week.
