Full Job Description

Northern Virginia Hematology and Oncology Associates is seeking a Full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our busy and growing outpatient offices located in Stafford (primary) and Woodbridge.

The ideal candidate would have Hematology and Oncology experience. Our new NP/PA hire will be working in a challenging and progressive work environment with top tier, Board Certified Oncologist.

The position offers a competitive salary+ productivity bonus, 401K, and benefits. $10,000 Sign-on Bonus.

Job is mainly outpatient with some inpatient coverage.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations (where indicated), initiates appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data on new and former clinic patients and hospital admissions to establish a record of the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
Must be able to work with collaborating physician.
May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority through applicable state Board of Medicine.
Educates patients regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects and hazards.
Participates in medical team meetings; collaborates with providers, medical and other healthcare team members regularly to ensure quality patient care
Refers patients to specialists as appropriate for consultation or for specialized health resources and treatment.
Participates in quality monitoring through the review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes and to assure safety and quality care.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Virginia PA/NP licensure/certification
BLS / ACLS certification required
Excellent communication skills, and a desire to work in a challenging, rapidly growing environment

Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
