Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Policy & Economic Researcher to join our team. In this role, you will monitor the evolving geopolitical landscape, international relations, and global economic policies, translating complex macro-level developments into clear, commercial strategic advice for our clients.

This is an ideal position for a seasoned researcher from a top-tier think tank, international organization, or reputable research institution who possesses a deep understanding of how political economy shapes global trade and business environments.

Key Responsibilities

Geopolitical & IR Monitoring: Track and analyze shifts in the global geopolitical landscape and international relations, assessing their potential impacts on cross-border investments, supply chains, and market access.
Macro & Trade Policy Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on macroeconomic trends, international trade flows, and critical policy shifts (e.g., tariffs, export controls, economic sanctions, and bilateral/multilateral trade agreements).
Risk & Strategy Assessment: Evaluate regional political and regulatory risks in key markets, providing actionable insights to help clients mitigate commercial risks and seize emerging opportunities.
Report Drafting & Advisory: Synthesize complex geopolitical and economic data into high-quality research reports, policy briefs, and strategic memos tailored for C-suite executives and investors.
Briefings: Deliver presentations and provide real-time analytical support on breaking global events that impact the economic and business environment.

Qualifications

Academic Background: Bachelor's degree or above in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Asian Studies, Public Policy, or a closely related field. A strong academic foundation in political economy or international trade is highly preferred.
Proven Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional research experience. Previous experience working at a well-known think tank, an international organization, or a top-tier economic/financial research institution is highly required.
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of geopolitical dynamics, international relations theory, and global macroeconomic/trade mechanisms. Familiarity with the political and economic landscapes of the Asia-Pacific region or major global economies is a strong plus.
Analytical & Writing Skills: Exceptional ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data. Outstanding writing skills with a proven track record of publishing high-quality research papers, policy briefs, or analytical articles.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Mandarin proficiency is highly advantageous to cover Chinese-speaking markets and source materials.
Mindset: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to bridge the gap between academic/policy research and real-world business strategy.

Pay: $67,606.13 - $81,418.13 per year
