Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Salaried Process Server to join our legal support team. This role will involve working 5-20hours per week, generally only mornings 6-8am and/or evenings 6-8pm. This is a contracted salary position and does not involve standard employee benefits. Pay will be calculated at a rate of 36% of the total cost per serve, as calculated by county and priority level. Pricing map can be found at https://www.delatorgroup.com/process-serve-pricing-map.

Opportunities for overtime will be presented, overtime is entirely optional for the process server to take.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of legal documents efficiently and professionally, ensuring compliance with procedural law and maintaining the integrity of process serving records. Your proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and commitment to professional ethics will contribute to the smooth operation of our legal processes. This position offers an engaging opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and timely service are paramount.

Responsibilities

Serve a variety of legal documents including subpoenas, summons, complaints, eviction notices, restraining orders, child support documents, foreclosure notices, injunctions, divorce papers, lien documents, trust documents, criminal and civil documents, and other legal petitions.
Utilize personal vehicles for timely delivery of process serving records across multiple locations.
Prepare detailed reports documenting service attempts and successful deliveries using mobile data collection software and scanning tools.
File proof of service in accordance with procedural law requirements to ensure proper documentation.
Manage process serving records meticulously within designated record management systems.
Maintain professional ethics at all times while serving legal documents and interacting with clients or parties involved.
Use mobile devices and courier tools to facilitate efficient communication and delivery tracking.
Serve notices to quit, wage garnishment documents, custody orders, writs, injunctions, liens, and other legal notices with precision.
Assist in procedural law compliance by following established protocols for serving small claims court papers and other legal complaints.

Experience

Proven experience in process serving or related legal support roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of procedural law related to serving various types of legal documents is highly desirable.
Familiarity with mobile data collection software, scanning equipment, and record management systems is advantageous.
Ability to operate a personal vehicle safely and reliably for frequent deliveries across different locations.
Strong report writing skills with attention to detail for documenting service attempts accurately.
Demonstrated professionalism and adherence to ethical standards in all interactions related to process serving.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
