Full Job Description

Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care (PCP Services)

Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor, Hybrid | Pay: $60–$75 per hour | Location: 6609 Fairmount Ave, Baltimore, MD 21215

Promethean Healthcare is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care services—including routine labs, diagnostic services, and preventive care—to our patient population. This is a hybrid contract role combining in-person clinical hours at our Baltimore location with telehealth availability, offering the Nurse Practitioner flexibility to help structure their own in-person schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients, including routine checkups, preventive screenings, and chronic disease management
Order, perform, and interpret labs and diagnostic tests relevant to primary care services
Conduct telehealth visits for appropriate patient encounters
Conduct in-person visits at the Baltimore office for exams, labs, and services that require a physical presence
Develop and manage individualized patient care plans, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
Prescribe medications and therapies within the scope of NP licensure and state regulations
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the practice's EHR system
Collaborate with collaborating/supervising physicians and other care team members as required by Maryland regulations
Ensure all care delivered meets applicable clinical, legal, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Maryland
National board certification (e.g., AANP or ANCC) in a relevant primary care specialty (FNP, AGNP, or similar)
Active DEA registration, or willingness to obtain prior to start
Current CPR/BLS certification
Prior experience in primary care, family practice, or a related outpatient setting preferred
Comfortable conducting both in-person and telehealth patient visits
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently as a contractor
Reliable access to technology suitable for telehealth visits (camera, secure internet connection, private space)

Schedule & Work Format

Hybrid position: telehealth hours may be completed remotely; in-person hours are conducted at 6609 Fairmount Ave, Baltimore, MD 21215
Nurse Practitioner sets and proposes their own in-person availability, subject to practice scheduling needs and patient demand
Hours and weekly volume are flexible and contract-based; exact scheduling to be coordinated directly with the practice

Compensation & Contract Terms

Pay rate: $60–$75 per hour, commensurate with experience
Engagement type: Independent contractor (1099); this is not a W-2 employee position
Payment terms: Net-21 (payment issued within 21 days of invoice/services rendered)
Nurse Practitioner is responsible for their own taxes, malpractice coverage (unless otherwise specified), and licensure costs, consistent with independent contractor status
