Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Radiology Medical Billing / Collections specialist! In this vital role, you will be the driving force behind accurate billing processes and effective collections for radiology services. Your expertise will ensure smooth financial operations, support patient satisfaction, and contribute to the overall success of our medical practice. We are looking for energetic, detail-oriented professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional healthcare administration.

Duties

Prepare and submit accurate radiology claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding systems to insurance payers and third-party vendors.
Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding compliance with medical terminology and coding standards.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly, utilizing effective collection strategies to recover outstanding balances.
Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits through EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems prior to billing.
Communicate professionally with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and clarify account statuses.
Maintain detailed records of billing activities, collections efforts, and account statuses to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations, payer policies, and billing best practices to optimize revenue cycle management.

Qualifications

Proven experience in medical billing and collections within a radiology or medical office setting.
Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, DRG classifications, and ICD coding standards.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and the use of RIS systems.
Excellent understanding of insurance processes, claim submission procedures, and collection techniques.
Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately for coding purposes.
Prior experience working with medical office software and billing platforms is highly preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
