Community Manager

Voloco by Resonant Cavity Inc.

Location: Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (in-office required for first 6 months; flexible scheduling available thereafter)

Compensation: $53,600 annually

Type: Full-time

Reports to: Director of Operations

About Voloco

Voloco is a mobile vocal recording and processing app used by a passionate global community of musicians, beatmakers, and creators. We’re an independent, employee-owned company based in Minneapolis; no outside funding, no corporate overlords. Our community is central to everything we build, and this role exists to make it thrive.

The Role

We’re looking for a Community Manager who genuinely lives and breathes music and creator culture. This isn’t a traditional social media job. It’s part curator, part interviewer, part hype person, part voice of the user. You’ll own Voloco’s community presence across platforms, conduct creator interviews on camera, and help shape the sound and culture of the app. You’ll work closely with a small, tight-knit team that moves fast and values creative ownership.

What You’ll Do

Community Building & Management

Own and grow Voloco’s community presence, especially within our app, on Reddit (r/voloco), and across other platforms
Engage authentically with users: responding, spotlighting creators, and surfacing feedback to the team
Run recurring community programs (e.g., weekly creator spotlights, contests, AMAs)
Bring a point of view on what good community culture looks like, and act on it
Moderate community spaces with consistency and impartiality

Creator Interviews & On-Camera Content

Conduct interviews with Voloco users and artists on camera, with energy and curiosity
Help develop video content formats that showcase real creators and real stories
Be a recognizable, trustworthy face of the Voloco community
Collaborate on short-form and long-form content for Voloco’s YouTube channel and social platforms

Content & Copywriting

Write social media copy that sounds like a person, not a brand account
Help generate post ideas, captions, video scripts, and campaign concepts across platforms
Contribute to educational content and community-facing help resources

Music & App Culture

Keep a pulse on trends in music creation, vocal production, and creator tools
Help curate the “sound” and aesthetic identity of Voloco’s community
Have informed opinions on what resonates with our users and the ability to back them up

Operations & Reliability

Execute recurring programs on schedule, every time, without hand-holding
Flag issues, iterate on what’s not working, and own your outcomes
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, support, and product teams

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

Experience with community building or community management (online communities a plus)
Comfortable and confident on camera: this is a real requirement, not a nice-to-have
Background in music creation: you make music, or you used to, or you’re deeply embedded in a music-making community
Strong writing instincts: punchy, clear, platform-aware copy
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage repeating processes without dropping the ball
Collaborative and team-oriented, but not afraid to take ownership and run with things

Strong Pluses

Familiarity with app store dynamics, mobile app marketing, or what drives downloads and engagement
Experience with community platforms pre- and post-2020 (bonus points if you lived through the shift to online-only communities)
An interest in or aptitude for teaching: explaining things clearly and accessibly
Comfort creating short-form video content, not just appearing in it
Broad knowledge of music tech and the creator tools landscape
