Full Job Description

Specialized Housing, Inc., is seeking an individual (with no pets) for a live-in position in one of our Brookline houses. This position offers a private apartment, including utilities and laundry, in exchange for services provided to ten independent adults with developmental disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), experience in residential care, and familiarity with the developmentally disabled population. Flexibility with one's personal and professional or school schedule is helpful at times.

General Job Duties:

The live-in staff is responsible for direct care support and light on-call duties. While on shift, the live-in staff is responsible for general oversight of resident and house safety. Prompting and supervision of personal-care tasks for residents, assisting with meal preparation, medications, and weekend shopping trips as needed. Shift duties may change as the needs of our residents change over time.

Schedule:

Hours include direct care shifts during the evenings, mornings, and one day shift on Saturday (Wednesday 8pm-8am; Thursday 8pm-8am; Friday day 8pm - Saturday 3pm). On-call duties are at the discretion of the program manager, typically one weekend per month.

Benefits include vacation, holiday, and sick time.
