We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager with a strong craft cocktail background to lead our opening beverage program, develop our team, and help establish Casa Pasha as one of Oakland County's premier cocktail destinations.
Position Summary
The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of bar operations, including staff leadership, cocktail execution, inventory management, training, guest experience, and profitability. This individual will be a hands-on leader who leads by example, works behind the bar during service, and creates a culture of hospitality, accountability, and excellence.
The ideal candidate possesses both strong operational skills and a deep understanding of craft cocktails, spirits, and modern beverage trends.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop bartenders and bar support staff.
- Foster a positive, professional, and high-performance team culture.
- Lead pre-shift meetings, ongoing education, and beverage training programs.
- Establish and uphold service standards, appearance standards, and operational expectations.
- Coach team members through performance improvement and professional development.
Beverage Program Management
- Oversee execution of all cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, sake, and specialty beverage offerings.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are maintained at all times.
- Collaborate with ownership and culinary leadership on seasonal cocktail menus and beverage features.
- Maintain deep knowledge of classic cocktails, modern techniques, and industry trends.
- Continuously evaluate and improve beverage offerings based on guest feedback and sales performance, and food menu.
Operations & Inventory
- Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and product organization.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and monitor beverage costs.
- Control waste, spillage, over-pouring, and product loss.
- Develop and maintain recipes, specifications, and costing sheets.
- Ensure compliance with all liquor laws, health regulations, and company policies.
- Continue to develop relationships with vendors
Guest Experience
- Lead from the floor and behind the bar during service.
- Create memorable guest experiences through hospitality, engagement, and beverage knowledge.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and effectively.
- Build relationships with regular guests and cultivate a loyal following.
- Help create an atmosphere that encourages guests to stay for "one more round."
Financial Performance
- Monitor sales performance and labor efficiency.
- Analyze beverage cost percentages and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in achieving revenue goals and profitability targets.
- Support initiatives that drive beverage sales and guest engagement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of bartending experience in a craft cocktail, upscale dining, luxury hotel, or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Minimum 1–2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, beer, and sake.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, ordering, and beverage cost controls.
- Proven ability to train and develop bartenders.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
