Job Title: Medical Assistant

Location: Little Rock, AR

Position Type: Full-time

Reports To: Practice Manager, MSO

Job Overview

We are seeking a versatile, high-energy Medical Assistant to join our founding team as we launch our brand-new primary care clinic. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, loves organization, and is passionate about providing exceptional, highly compassionate care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

Take and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, respirations, and pulse
Prepare patients for exams and procedures, including documenting medical histories, reconciling medication lists, and allergy lists
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens or perform basic lab tests
Administer medications or vaccinations as directed by physicians
Assist healthcare professionals during diagnostic procedures, minor surgeries, or other treatments
Maintain cleanliness and sterility of medical instruments and exam rooms
Perform basic lab testing, phlebotomy, and testing such as EKG, blood glucose, or orthostatic blood pressures.
Enter and maintain accurate patient records in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and ensure timely completion of charting/superbills
Assist with insurance verification,referral coordination and patient outreach as needed
Answer phones, manage patient inquiries, and provide customer service
Maintain inventory of medical supplies in rooms and restock as needed.
Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent, Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program/ CCMA/RMA required
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare procedures, and clinical protocols
Proficiency with EMR software and medical equipment
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Abilityto maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
2+ years of experience in outpatient care required. Primary care or family medicine setting preferred

Pay: $17.00 - $20.25 per hour
