Full Job Description

RPM Staffing Professionals, Inc. is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Cost Accountant to join a dynamic finance team in Allen, Texas. In this critical role, you will perform advanced cost accounting analyses, compare estimated costs to actual costs, and deliver insightful budget reports that drive strategic decision-making in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Gather, compile, and maintain comprehensive cost databases related to expenses and operations.
Set up standard costs for new parts and lead the annual standard cost roll process.
Develop and improve systems and procedures for cost accumulation and accounting functions.
Analyze fixed costs (salaries, rent, insurance) and forecast variable costs including raw materials, labor, and operational expenses.
Review and analyze actual costs to identify and resolve inaccuracies, including PPV and work order variances.
Lead or collaborate on cross-functional kaizen projects to drive continuous improvement.
Prepare ad-hoc cost studies, reports, and analyses to support informed business decisions.
Develop departmental and company-wide budgeting reports and analyze actual profit margins.
Manage month-end and year-end closings, inventory reconciliations, and cycle count discrepancy investigations.
Provide product sample costs to Marketing and General Accounting teams.
Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions to enhance profitability.

What You Bring:

In-depth knowledge of manufacturing accounting, including job costing and inventory valuation.
Strong understanding of GAAP and core financial processes (budgeting, financial close, reporting).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, connected data) and Access.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across global teams and all levels of management.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
Flexibility to meet deadlines and a hands-on, proactive approach in a high-growth industry.
Minimal travel as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
CPA or CMA preferred (not required).
Required: Significant experience in Cost Accounting.
Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing environment.
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (required to meet ITAR compliance).
