Role: Change & Release Management Lead - Wealth Management
Title: VP
Location: NYC, NY(Day 1 Onsite/Hybrid) – Fulltime
Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite required
Required Experience: 12+ years
Role Summary
- Hands-on manager leading Change & Release Management for a large wealth manager's technology estate
- Owns end-to-end change governance and release execution across legacy mainframe/midrange, monolithic platforms, and modern microservices
- Operates across hybrid infrastructure: on-prem VMs, private cloud, and public cloud
- Player-coach: drives the practice, runs CAB, and personally executes high-risk releases when needed
Required
- 12+ years in IT with 5+ in change/release management, including 3+ years leading a team
- Financial services experience — wealth management, asset management, brokerage, or banking — with working knowledge of market hours, freeze windows, and quarter-end constraints
- Hands-on background as a release engineer, DevOps engineer, or SRE before moving into management; still able to read pipeline configs and debug deployment issues
- Proven delivery across heterogeneous estates: legacy/mainframe + monolithic Java/.NET + containerized microservices in the same release portfolio
- On-prem virtualization experience plus production experience in at least one public cloud
- Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift,
- CI/CD tooling depth
- ServiceNow Change (or equivalent) and solid grasp change, release, and deployment management
- Experience operating under regulatory controls, including audit-ready change documentation
- Track record chairing CAB and Emergency CAB; leading go/no-go decisions, cutover plans, and rollback procedures
- Strong stakeholder management — comfortable pushing back on senior engineers and business leaders when risk warrants
- Executive-level written communication for risk reporting and audit deliverables
Desired
- Multi-cloud production experience (two or more of AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Mainframe or legacy modernization exposure
- Familiarity with wealth platforms
- Progressive delivery patterns: blue/green, canary, feature flags, and dark launches
- Observability and monitoring tooling
- Metrics-driven continuous improvement
- Experience leading a legacy-to-cloud or monolith-to-microservices modernization program at scale
- Chaos engineering and game day exercises
- Certifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
