Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are a busy Personal Injury law firm and we are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Lien Negotiator to join our growing personal injury team. In this role, you will play a key part in maximizing client recoveries by negotiating and resolving medical liens and balances. Your work directly impacts the final outcome for our clients, making this a highly valued position within the firm.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in a similar position.

Key Responsibilities

Negotiate reductions on medical liens with healthcare providers and third-party payers
Review case files to identify and verify all outstanding liens and expenses
Prepare clear and accurate client disbursement statements
Compile and reconcile medical bills, legal costs, and settlement figures
Create detailed disbursement spreadsheets outlining fees, costs, and client net recovery
Coordinate and process payments to medical providers and lienholders
Communicate effectively with providers, clients, and internal team members to resolve discrepancies

Qualifications

Prior experience in lien negotiations preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and case management systems (QuickBooks a plus)
Confidence and ability to negotiate bills
Tech Savvy and comfortable working in a paperless environment – Microsoft Suite proficiency, Intermediate excel or experience with QuickBooks
Good with numbers, basic math and meticulous.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, paperless environment
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Team-oriented with a positive, solution-focused mindset
