Solaris is a tissue converting company with affiliated plants and warehouses across the US. Solaris has been in business since 2007 and has steadily grown in the away from home (AFH), retail private label (PL) and retail branded (FIORA) sales channels.
2. DEPARTMENT
The Distribution Department is responsible for the storage, safeguarding, and movement of raw materials and finished goods. They help optimize supply chain management, generate higher value, and deliver products efficiently to customers. The department keeps track of information about the goods and materials sent into the warehouse, stored and shipped out. The data maintained in SAP that is used to manage the warehouse must be precise, timely, and free from errors. Proper monitoring of these functions is imperative to guarantee that all warehousing operations take place efficiently.
3. JOB PURPOSE
The Distribution Manager is expected to manage and deploy the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. They will communicate and monitor production measurement metrics and set performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. The Distribution Manager utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. They are expected to troubleshoot and resolve escalated operational issues. Additionally, the Distribution Manager ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. This position manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. The manager ensures that projects, milestones, and goals are met and within the approved budget.
4. KEY RESPONSIBILITES
· Oversees the daily workflow of the distribution team including receiving, storing, and shipping staff.
· Interviews and hires warehouse employees and supervisors.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
· Schedules pickup , delivery, and distribution of products and materials.
· Forecasts peak delivery periods and issues appropriate work assignments.
· Collaborates with department heads to coordinate production, sales, record controls, and purchasing.
· Provides shipping instructions and routing information; confirms and coordinates delivery times and locations.
· Establishes warehouse safety and security programs and training activities.
· Ability to manage and coordinate a variety of shipping methods.

5. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education & Knowledge
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Five years of related manufacturing experience required.
· Three years of supervisory experience required.

6. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position is required to work in a dusty environment, with noise levels up to 90 dB
· This position needs to safely lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
· Must be able to sit, bend, stand, climb stairs and walk during scheduled shift.
· Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and rotations.
· Must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the department/ business.
· Must wear PPE per company regulations.
