Spectrum Community Services provides services to residents with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. Direct Support Professional is responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, transportation to appointments, meal preparation, housekeeping, and fostering a positive and structured environment.
SCHEDULE: (3) 12-hour shift & (1) 6-hour shift
Shift A: Sunday - Tuesday 8am-8pm |Wednesday 8am-2pm
Shift B: Wednesday 2pm - 8pm | Thursday- Saturday 8am-8pm
Shift C: Sunday - Tuesday 8pm - 8am | Wednesday 8pm-2am
Shift D: Thursday 2am - 8am | Thursday- Saturday 8pm-8am
PAYRATE: $18/hour
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in the development and implementation of individual service plan
- Oversees and assists the residents in the completion of their homework and studies, household chores, house maintenance, etc.
- Reports observations of resident involvement in the daily record.
- Conducts fire drills at least monthly according to regulations and agency policies and procedures.
- Maintains residence, vehicle, and equipment in a safe, functional, and secure manner conducive to the residents’ physical well-being.
- Assists the residents in the expression and fulfillment of their needs within the guidelines established in the facility policies to provide growth and self-sufficiency.
- Provides crisis intervention strategies as prescribed in the policies and procedures for treatment/support, as necessary.
- Responds in accordance with policies and procedures for handling emergency situations.
- Clean snow as needed
- Participates as a team member in supervisor, staff, and team meetings.
- Supports and follows all policies and procedures, as well as complying with all applicable state regulations.
- Supervises and/or administers the taking of medications in accordance with policies and procedures governing medication administration.
Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification preferred but not required.
- Experience working with children, individuals with disabilities, or behavioral health settings preferred.
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
