Full Job Description

Human Resources Generalist (In Person)

Location: River Vale, NJ Corporate Office

Spectrum for Living, a New Jersey not-for-profit organization, helps adults with developmental disabilities attain their maximum potential by providing quality housing and clinical services in state-of-the-art facilities and in the homes of families caring for a disabled loved one.

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team at our River Vale, NJ Corporate Office.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist oversees employee benefits administration and provides benefit plan interpretation and guidance to employees. This position ensures timely enrollment of eligible employees, processes administrative changes, billing, maintains accurate records, and serves as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries. This role will be responsible for the onboarding and training of volunteers.

Responsibilities

Ensures enrollment of eligible employees and the accuracy of benefit enrollments in HR systems to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
Provides detailed information regarding voluntary benefit offerings.
Assists with the administration of the annual Open Enrollment process.
Completes monthly benefits billing, including additions, deletions, and enrollment changes, while ensuring COBRA compliance.
Responsible for leave management, FMLA, NJFLA.
Coordinates and facilitates Spectrum for Living volunteer program, including volunteer recruitment, onboarding and training.
Assists with performance management processes, including tracking evaluations and supporting managers with performance-related documentation.
Assists with the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required.
Two (2) to four (4) years of Human Resources experience required.
Experience administering employee benefits, including health, dental, life insurance, 403(b) retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, voluntary insurance, FMLA, and NJFLA.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple responsibilities, and demonstrate exceptional follow-up skills.
