We continue to expand our locations, service offerings, and staff opportunities. We are now ready to place a Senior Service Writer. This candidate must experience in Automotive Service in a professional setting. This individual will work with, mentor, train, and assist in the leadership of a staff consisting of five service writers and three parts professionals. We are a team of 23 co-owners, operating 14 bays with 13 technicians from two integrated locations.

Core Responsibilities of a Service Writer:

Customer Interaction:
Greeting customers warmly and professionally.
Listening attentively to customers' concerns and descriptions of vehicle or equipment issues.
Asking probing questions to fully understand the problem.
Translating technical issues into understandable terms for customers.
Providing accurate estimates for repairs and services.
Explaining recommended services and their benefits.
Obtaining customer authorization for all work performed.
Keeping customers informed about the status of their repairs.
Addressing customer complaints and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
Ensuring customer satisfaction upon completion of service.
Educating customers on recommended maintenance and preventative services.
Presenting additional service options clearly and effectively.
Work Order Management:
Creating detailed and accurate repair orders (ROs) that clearly outline customer concerns, diagnostic findings, and requested services.
Documenting vehicle/equipment information (make, model, VIN, mileage/hours).
Assigning work to appropriate technicians based on skill and workload.
Monitoring the progress of repairs and ensuring timely completion.
Ordering necessary parts and materials.
Ensuring all work performed is properly documented on the RO.
Closing out repair orders accurately for invoicing.
Technical Liaison:
Communicating effectively with technicians regarding diagnostic findings, repair procedures, and parts needed.
Relaying customer concerns accurately to technicians.
Understanding basic automotive/equipment systems and common problems to facilitate communication.
Learning about new technologies and repair procedures.
Team Collaboration:
Working effectively with other service writers, parts department personnel, and management.
Contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
