The Next Step Public Charter School (TNS) is seeking an exceptional educational leader to serve as our Evening Principal. This role is ideal for a passionate, student-centered administrator who believes in the transformative power of education and is committed to helping adult learners overcome barriers and achieve their academic and career goals.
As Evening Principal, you will provide instructional leadership, supervise and develop faculty, drive academic excellence, and ensure high-quality programming for our diverse student population. The Next Step Public Charter School serves students who have faced extraordinary challenges and have not found success in traditional educational settings. Through rigorous academics, restorative practices, and personalized support, we empower students to realize their full potential and become contributing members of society.

What You'll DoAcademic Leadership
- Lead day-to-day evening academic operations and ensure high-quality program implementation.
- Foster a student-centered culture focused on achievement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a key member of the Academic Leadership Team.
- Monitor academic performance and develop action plans to improve student outcomes.
- Ensure instructional programs align with the school's mission, charter goals, and accountability standards.
Faculty Supervision & Development
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate evening faculty and instructional staff.
- Conduct formal and informal classroom observations.
- Provide meaningful feedback that promotes professional growth and instructional excellence.
- Support teachers in achieving performance and career development goals.
- Lead professional development planning and implementation.
Strategic Planning & School Improvement
- Use data to inform decision-making and drive academic success.
- Monitor progress toward organizational and academic performance goals.
- Support budget planning and resource allocation for instructional programs.
- Collaborate with school leaders to identify and implement interventions that improve student achievement.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement across academic programs.
Student Success & Support
- Partner with student support, enrollment, and special education teams to ensure students receive the services and interventions they need.
- Support equitable practices that promote student engagement, persistence, and achievement.
- Serve as an Administrator on Duty and provide site-level leadership when needed.
Community & Partnership Building
- Build and strengthen relationships with community organizations and strategic partners.
- Promote the school's mission and academic vision internally and externally.
- Collaborate across departments to support school-wide initiatives and organizational goals.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of successful full-time teaching experience.
- Minimum of three years of school leadership or administrative experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Expertise in instructional leadership, curriculum development, coaching, learning theory, and educational technology.
- Strong data analysis and performance management skills.
- Experience leading teams and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- School Leadership Certification.
- Experience in Adult Education, GED programs, ESL instruction, or alternative education settings.
- Knowledge of standardized assessments such as GED, TABE, CLAS-E, CEFR, or similar assessments.
- Experience implementing and evaluating academic programs.
- Demonstrated success improving student achievement through instructional leadership.
- Budget management experience.
- Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and restorative practices.

Compensation
Annual Salary: $100,000- $123,000 Commensurate with Experience
