Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy in coding and compliance with regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Responsibilities

Accurately prepare and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 to ensure proper billing for services rendered.
Review patient records and documentation to verify accuracy of information before submission.
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues with insurance providers.
Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any questions regarding patient care or billing issues.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.

Requirements

Proficiency in medical terminology, medical billing, and medical coding practices.
Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG systems, and other relevant coding methodologies.
Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
