Tennessee & North Alabama | $50-70K Base + Performance Bonuses | W2 Salaried + Full Benefits
The Honest Truth First
If you're reading this and thinking "Yeah, but is this another sketchy door-to-door hustle?", you're asking the right questions. Let's address that directly.
We are not MLM. We are not a pyramid scheme. We are not 1099 gig work. You will be hired as a W2 salaried employee with guaranteed base pay ($50-70K depending on experience and market), health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and performance bonuses. Your compensation doesn't depend on recruiting your friends or building a downline. Period.
Is there high turnover in field sales? Yes. Absolutely. It's brutal, and we won't lie about it. Not everyone makes it past their first summer. But if you understand that going in—and you have the grit to manage field teams despite that reality—there's real money here and a path to leadership that doesn't exist in most jobs at this level.
Who We Are
Install America is a roofing, siding, and home improvement contractor operating across Tennessee and North Alabama. We're busy. We close leads from previous customers, digital, and community outreach, and we need someone to manage the canvassing operation that builds awareness, captures leads, and feeds our sales pipeline.
We're not a startup. We've been doing this for years, we're profitable, and we're hiring because we're scaling—not because we're desperate.
What the Job Actually Is
You'll hire, recruit, train, motivage and manage two teams of 5 canvassers each (1 in Nashville, 1 in North Alabama) who do door-to-door outreach in residential neighborhoods. Your team will:
- Present our roofing, siding, windows, doors, and bathroom services to homeowners
- Qualify leads and set appointments for our sales team
- Collect contact info and confirm appointment details
- Handle basic objection handling and lead qualification
- Your job is to:
- Recruit, train, and supervise field canvassers in both territories
- Set daily/weekly activity targets and track performance
- Manage territory and route efficiency
- Hold your team accountable to production standards
- Problem-solve when motivation drops or team members quit (they will)
- Conduct nightly debriefs and coaching
- Report daily metrics to management
- Travel between neighborhoods and occasionally help knock doors yourself
- Manage both Nashville and North Alabama operations
- Real schedule:
- Monday–Friday typically 3 PM–8 PM in neighborhoods (knocking doors). Saturdays 9 AM–3 PM. Some team members will want to do 10 AM–5 PM shifts, so you're managing variable schedules. You're not sitting in an office. You're in the field, in neighborhoods, managing people in real time.
Compensation: The Numbers Without the BS
Base salary: $50-70K (W2, salaried, guaranteed).
What you're doing: Setting appointments. That's it. Your team knocks doors, talks to homeowners about their roofing, siding, windows, doors, or bathrooms, and books an appointment for our sales team. You're not demoing anything. You're not selling anything. You're qualifying and scheduling.
Bonus structure: Based on appointments set and appointment show-up rate.
- $50 per confirmed appointment (homeowner gives name, phone, address, and confirms a date/time)
- Weekly volume bonus: Hit certain appointment thresholds and the per-appointment bonus increases 0-8 appointments/week = $50 each
- 9-15 appointments/week = $60 each
- 16+ appointments/week = $75 each
Show-up bonus (optional extra): If your team's appointments have a 90%+ show-up rate (homeowner actually sits down with the sales rep), you get an additional $25-50 per appointment as a quality bonus. This incentivizes you to set real appointments, not junk.
Real Numbers: Two Teams (Nashville + North Alabama)
Here's what it looks like when you're operating with 1 team of 5 in Nashville and 1 team of 5 in North Alabama:
Daily activity (realistic):
Nashville: 5 field marketers × 0.75 confirmed appointments/day = 3.75 appts/day
- North Alabama: 5 field marketers × 0.75 confirmed appointments/day = 3.75 appts/day
- Total: ~7.5 appointments per day
- Weekly numbers (5-day work week):
- 7.5 appts/day × 5 days = ~37-38 confirmed appointments per week
- Bonus calculation:
- At $60-75 per appointment (hitting mid-to-high tiers), that's $2,200-2,850/week in bonus
- 50 weeks/year = $110,000-142,500 in annual bonus
- Your total comp:
- Base salary: $50-70K
- Annual bonus: $110K-$140K
- Total: $160,000-210,000
- This assumes consistent execution, normal weather, and managing through standard turnover. It's realistic. It's not lottery numbers. And it's what happens when you've got two solid teams actually executing.
Why This Isn't the Typical Door-to-Door Trap
1. You're not 1099. Full W2 employee. Base pay is guaranteed whether you knock doors tomorrow or not. Bonuses are on top of that guaranteed salary.
2. No inventory, no "starter kits," no supply fees. We provide all marketing materials, brochures, iPads, CRM access, everything. You don't buy in. Ever.
3. Real benefits, not jokes. Medical (we cover 70% of premiums), dental, vision, 401(k) match, PTO, and workers comp. These aren't marketing speak—they're actual benefits you can use.
4. No recruitment pressure. You hire people to work for you, not to recruit people under them. There's no structure where you make money from their recruitment. You make money from what your team produces.
5. We generate homeowner interest through marketing. Your team qualifies and books appointments. The company owns the customer. You're not carrying a list of cold contacts or paying for leads.
The Real Grind (and Why It Matters)
Evening and Saturday work is non-negotiable. Homeowners aren't available at 2 PM on a Tuesday. They're home at 6 PM or on Saturday morning. If you can't stomach being outside knocking doors at 7 PM or managing a team on Saturday mornings, this job isn't for you.
Turnover is real. Maybe 40-50% of canvassers make it through their first month. Some quit because the work is harder than they expected. Some realize they don't like rejection. Some find other jobs. You'll be hiring constantly, and that's exhausting.
Weather sucks. Hot summers in Tennessee and North Alabama. Cold winters. Rain days mean adjusting your route or pivoting to phone follow-ups. You're managing this constantly.
Rejection is the baseline. Most doors don't want to talk to you. That's okay. Your team needs thick skin, and so do you.
You're directly responsible for people's income. If you're a bad manager, your canvassers don't make money and they leave. That's on you.
Territory management is complex. You're managing two separate markets (Nashville and North Alabama), which means travel and split focus. You need systems and discipline.
If any of those things sound unbearable, keep scrolling. We need people who accept them and excel anyway.
What We're Looking For
- Sales or field management experience (3+ years preferred, but we'll look at hungry people with less)
- Comfort with direct sales, objection handling, and KPIs (you get it, you're not afraid of numbers)
- Leadership ability under pressure (managing people who are tired, unmotivated, or quitting)
- Reliability (if you say you'll be there at 3 PM, you're there at 3 PM)
- Communication skills (coaching, accountability, and honesty with your team and your boss)
- Hunger (you want to make $160K-200K, you understand the path, and you're willing to work for it)
- Ability to manage multiple locations (Nashville and North Alabama simultaneously)
- You don't need roofing or home improvement experience. We'll teach you the product.

FAQ
Q: Is this really $50-70K base guaranteed?
A: Yes. It's W2 salary. You get paid that whether you're knocking doors or on vacation.
Q: What if I don't hit bonus targets?
A: You still get your base. Bonus requires hitting activity and lead quality targets. If you miss, you make $50-70K that year.
Q: Do I have to recruit people under me to make more money?
A: No. You manage a team and you make bonuses on their performance and lead generation. No pyramid structure.
Q: Is this commission-only?
A: Absolutely not. Base salary is guaranteed. You're not living paycheck to paycheck.
Q: Why is turnover so high?
A: Because door-to-door is hard work. Some people underestimate it. Some find other jobs. That's normal in field sales. We build for it and manage around it.
Q: What's the actual work hours?
A: Mon-Fri 3-8 PM, Saturdays 9-3. Sometimes 10 AM starts if needed. You're managing field time, so you're in the field during these hours.
Q: What if I want full-time office work instead?
A: This isn't the role for you. We have other positions, but this one is field-based.
Q: Can I manage this from one location?
A: No. You're managing two teams in two different markets (Nashville and North Alabama). You'll be traveling between territories.
