Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Safety Director to lead our organization's safety and health initiatives across all underground and overhead utility projects. In this pivotal role, you will champion a culture of safety excellence by developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will drive proactive risk management, foster a safety-conscious environment, and protect our workforce at every stage of construction. This is an exciting opportunity to influence safety practices on large-scale projects and contribute to a secure, compliant, and productive work environment.

Duties

Develop and oversee the implementation of robust safety policies aligned with industry specific standards and relevant regulations .
Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards related to construction activities, occupational health risks, and environmental safety concerns.
Lead incident investigations to determine root causes, recommend corrective actions, and ensure lessons learned are integrated into ongoing safety protocols.
Coordinate risk management strategies by assessing potential hazards, establishing mitigation plans, and ensuring proper use of construction management software for tracking safety metrics.
Provide training sessions on OSHA compliance, EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) best practices, construction site safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
Collaborate with managers, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety standards throughout all phases of construction projects.
Manage compliance documentation, conduct audits for regulatory adherence, and prepare reports for internal review and external inspections.

Experience

Extensive experience in construction management with a focus on safety leadership across multiple projects or sites.
Proven expertise in risk management techniques specific to the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NEC standards, Workers' Compensation policies, and occupational health principles.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective EHS programs tailored to complex construction environments.
Proficiency with safety tracking and compliance monitoring.
Construction site experience with hands-on understanding of daily operations, safety challenges, and best practices in managing large-scale projects.
Excellent communication skills for delivering training sessions, conducting audits, and collaborating with diverse teams to promote a culture of safety compliance.
