Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Center for Women and Community (CWC) Director, and as a member of the CWC leadership team, the Director of Clinical Services administers the General Counseling Program and provides clinical supervision to the Sexual Assault Support and Advocacy team operating a 24/7 rape crisis hotline, counseling, support groups and legal and medical advocacy.

Essential Functions

Provides contractually mandated clinical supervision to all sexual assault support and advocacy staff inclusive of counselor advocates, medical advocates, back up staff, rape crisis specialists and advocates, civilian advocates, the SASA director and as needed, to any CWC staff member.
Ensures compliance with Department of Public Health contract with regards to clinical oversight of a rape crisis center.
May represent the organization at the campus, community and state level with a range of stakeholders. Develops and implements community crisis support strategies in response to emerging current events.
Develops, administers and evaluates a program of clinical counseling services for the University, Five Colleges and Hampshire County.
Directly supervises and provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide variety of clinical presentations, including emergency and highly acute clinical situations. Oversees development of and maintenance of general counseling services including direct intervention with and evaluation of urgent and emergency client situations, intake, assessment and referral, walk-in and call-in services, and individual and group counseling.
Develops, administers, evaluates and directs a Master’s level internship training program that meets the qualifications for certification as a field placement site for area schools of social work and oversees daily management of internship training, supervision, evaluation and scheduling. Develops and maintains partnerships with MSW programs in New England to recruit diverse counseling interns. Creates and supervises rape crisis and general counseling support groups to meet emerging needs. Hires and provides clinical and administrative supervision to support group facilitators.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations concerning all clinical functions, including mandated reporting. Responsible for standards and protocols that address issues of confidentiality, standards of care, issues of liability and malpractice, record keeping, data collection and professional standards of ethical practice for CWC clinical services. Acts as Records Manager for CWC, responding to legal requests and subpoenas. Responsible for meeting clinical contractual obligations for grants and contracts.
Develops and manages counseling services outreach strategies, program reports and statistics, funding applications and budgets.

Performs related duties as assigned or required. Understands responsibilities with respect to Title IX, Clery and other compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

Master’s Degree in clinical social work (MSW) and licensure in Massachusetts for independent practice of clinical social work (LICSW).
Five years of clinical experience and relevant experience in administration of comparable programs.
Experience providing clinical supervision.
Experience administering internship site for MSW candidates, teaching, training and supervision of clinical mental health graduate interns.
Experience in the provision of services to survivors of sexual assault.
Strong administrative skills to include reporting writing for various audiences.
Experience developing and implementing culturally competent programs and services for diverse people including demonstrated knowledge of and experience with mental health issues impacting underrepresented groups.
Intermediate skill level in common computer applications and programs such as but not limited to Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

Bilingual.
Rape crisis trained, and in depth understanding of vicarious trauma and experience in providing related support to staff.
Experience working in higher education setting.
Experience in peer model service provision and working with volunteers.

Work Schedule

Typical work schedule Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.
Required to work some nights and weekends.
