University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is required.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access, through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for individuals/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, group therapy, providing information and referrals as needed, and individual therapy when ordered by an MD. Provides variety of psychotherapeutic services, group, family, individual to individuals in psychiatric hospital setting, presenting with co-occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, substance abuse disorders and other behavioral disorders. Provides social services, including, but not limited to discharge planning.
This is a Full Time position. Week days and some weekend days are required. Acute adolescent experience is preferred.

Education/Training:
· Master’s Degree from accredited school in Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
· Two (2) years of experience working in a hospital or psychiatric counseling setting with adults and/or adolescents and their families.
· CPR certification
Knowledge and Skills:
· Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge of therapeutic philosophies (group and individual treatment skills)
· Working knowledge of developmental stages
· Some minimal knowledge of community resources
· Ability to communicate effectively with varied ability to understand
· Strong assessment skills and ability to intervene in a variety of situations
