Engineering Technician II – Temporary/ Temp to Hire
Location: Camas, WA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Compensation: $25.00–$30.00/hr
Primary Function
The Engineering Technician II supports the build, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and modification of prototypes, products, equipment, and assemblies in support of engineering and manufacturing teams. This role requires hands-on technical experience, the ability to work from technical documentation, and the ability to troubleshoot issues with moderate independence.
Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Build, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain prototypes, products, fixtures, equipment, and assemblies
- Perform mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, wiring, cabling, soldering, and basic lab setup as needed
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, work instructions, and technical procedures
- Support equipment startup, testing, calibration checks, qualification activities, and functional verification
- Diagnose, document, and help resolve electrical, mechanical, or assembly-related issues
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision measurement tools, and basic electrical test equipment
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, process improvements, and documentation updates
- Maintain accurate records, test data, equipment logs, work instructions, and production documentation
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, quality, and production teams to support project goals
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow company policies related to safety, data security, ITAR, and operational procedures
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of relevant hands-on technical experience preferred
- Experience in engineering technician, manufacturing technician, electronics technician, test technician, mechanical/electrical assembly, or related technical role
- Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, work instructions, or SOPs
- Experience with mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, wiring, soldering, cabling, or troubleshooting
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, precision measurement tools, and/or basic electrical lab equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, document findings, and escalate when appropriate
- Basic computer and math skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Work Environment
- Standard lab and light production environment
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment required
- May occasionally work in varying environmental conditions for testing purposes
- May require occasional travel to other facilities, clients, or suppliers
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Pre-Employment
Background check, drug screen, and ability to meet ITAR requirements required.
