Diesel Mechanic – Jackson Center, Ohio
Whiteline Express is growing, and we have excellent opportunities for Diesel Mechanics to join our Jackson Center, Ohio team.
What's in It for You
Pay: $19.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience. Employees with a valid Class A CDL may qualify for additional compensation.
Schedule: Monday–Friday with a flexible start time between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Enjoy a standard 40-hour workweek with voluntary overtime available if you'd like to earn extra income. Saturdays are optional.

What You'll Be Doing
Maintain our company-owned fleet of Kenworth, Peterbilt, and Freightliner Class A tractors and trailers by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and completing repairs to keep our equipment operating safely and efficiently.
You'll remove, clean, repair, reinstall, and adjust truck and trailer components while ensuring every repair meets Whiteline Express safety standards and all applicable federal and state regulations.
You'll inspect completed work before equipment is returned to service to help ensure compliance with company safety standards and applicable federal and state regulations.
You'll have the opportunity to make offsite service calls using one of our company service trucks if you're interested.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license required. A Class A CDL is a plus and may qualify for additional compensation.
- Experience working on heavy-duty trucks is preferred. We also welcome candidates with automotive, agricultural, or other mechanical experience who are eager to learn diesel repair.
- Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and diesel engine issues.
- Ability to use battery and charging system test equipment.
- Basic welding and cutting skills, including MIG and oxy-acetylene.
- Must provide your own tools. We'll help you get started if needed.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work underneath tractors and trailers.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a maintenance shop and outdoors in varying weather conditions, as needed.
