Full Job Description

Position Summary: The Teacher will lead or assist in all classroom management activities necessary to care for MTCA’s students. He/she will provide a safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate educational environment that encourages children to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.

Key Roles / Responsibilities:

Supervise Ensure that the basic needs of students are met.
Supervise all daily activities to ensure a safe environment.
Understand and comply with all Texas State Licensing Rules and Regulations.
Maintain daily student logs.
Assist in the daily cleaning of designated facility areas and classrooms.
Communicate effectively to other staff members, students, and parents.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualification

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred)
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
State-required childcare certification (e.g., CDA, if applicable)
Previous experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Passionate about early childhood development and education

Working Conditions:

Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneeling, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
Must demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
Will be exposed to illness-causing bacteria and viruses.
Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
