Our curriculum not only develops artistic skills but also helps children strengthen focus, creativity, confidence, fine motor skills, patience, and the ability to follow directions.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and creative Art Instructors to teach after-school drawing classes at elementary schools, preschools, and recreation facilities throughout Chicago’s North Shore communities, including:
Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, Kenilworth, Glencoe, Glenview, Northbrook, Highland Park, Northfield, Deerfield, Lincolnshire, Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Waukegan, Zion, North Chicago, Beach Park, and Winthrop Harbor.

Position Overview
As a Young Rembrandts Art Instructor, you will lead engaging weekly drawing classes at local schools and recreation centers. Classes are typically held immediately after school dismissal and last between 45 and 60 minutes.
You will teach:
- Elementary Drawing and Cartooning Classes (Ages 6–12)
- Preschool Drawing Classes (Ages 4–6)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive drawing lessons using the Young Rembrandts curriculum and teaching methodology
- Prepare for each class using provided lesson plans and instructional materials
- Encourage creativity while helping students develop drawing and coloring techniques
- Foster a positive, safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Effectively manage classroom behavior and maintain student engagement
- Support students in developing fine motor skills, listening skills, focus, and confidence
- Take attendance and follow site-specific student dismissal procedures
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students throughout each class
- Communicate regularly with the franchise owner regarding class progress and student engagement
- Submit photos of student artwork following classes
- Report and address any classroom incidents or behavioral concerns in a timely manner
Qualifications
We are seeking individuals who are reliable, professional, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with children.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a background check
- Strong artistic and drawing abilities
- Dependable, trustworthy, and professional attitude
- Ability to manage and engage groups of up to 20 students
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and encouraging children
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Experience teaching or working with children
- Art education, fine arts, or related educational background
- Classroom management experience
- American Red Cross AED/CPR Certification
Additional Requirements
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned teaching locations
- Ability to commit to a consistent weekly teaching schedule during the school year
- Strong communication and organizational skills
