Innovate! Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Geospatial Data Technician / Data Integration Specialist / GIS Analyst / Data Editor / Geology / Science Domain Specialist | Data Manager | Metadata Specialist to support ETL procedures for integrating diverse, unstructured, and scientific geospatial datasets into an enterprise geodatabase. This role requires experience handling and processing seismic, bathymetric, geotechnical, and sediment datasets; conducting QA/QC; and maintaining data lineage documentation. The position will also support data management plan compliance, metadata standards, scientific data conversion, manual data extraction, data integration, and automation of data cleaning and transformation workflows.

Salary Range: $95,000 – $115,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Extract, transform, and load diverse datasets into an enterprise geodatabase.

Maintain the Data Queue and perform annual inventories.
-
Integrate geophysical and geotechnical datasets, including side-scan raster data, seismic raster images, bathymetry files, cores, and grab sediment samples.
-
Work with bathymetry data in .xyz format.
-
Work with core and grab sediment sample data in .txt, PDF, and spreadsheet formats.
-
Perform manual extraction from logs and non-digital sources.
-
Conduct QA/QC on geospatial and scientific datasets.
-
Maintain data lineage documentation.
-
Support compliance with the Data Management Plan.
-
Catalog marine mineral datasets.
-
Maintain cloud-based file structures.
-
Ensure FGDC/ISO metadata compliance.
-
Convert .xyz files to DEM rasters.
-
Extract geotechnical data and vibracore log data.
-
Enter grain-size information.
-
Reproject data.
-
Create dredge exposure rasters and boundary polygons.
-
Integrate data into the enterprise geodatabase.
-
Automate data cleaning and transformation workflows.
-
Provide technical expertise in the use of databases and their integration with complementary business systems.

Analyze, evaluate, and recommend basic architecture, workflows, and technology roadmaps to support user requirements.

Perform administration and troubleshooting.

Create GIS database products.

Provide analysis and end-user support.

Create documentation on data and workflows.

Conduct testing of GIS applications.

Perform QA/QC on data, processes, and workflows.

May supervise others.
REQUIRED SKILLS & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

Strong ETL experience in geospatial contexts.

Data wrangling experience with large, unstructured scientific datasets.

Knowledge of sedimentology, geophysics, and marine mineral resource data.

Deep QA/QC skills.
-
Data lineage documentation experience.

Experience handling and processing seismic, bathymetric, geotechnical, and sediment datasets.

Experience integrating geophysical and geotechnical datasets.

Experience converting .xyz files to DEM rasters.

Experience extracting geotechnical data and vibracore log data.

Experience reprojecting data and creating dredge exposure rasters and boundary polygons.

Experience automating data cleaning and transformation.

Demonstrated capability designing, troubleshooting, and administering geospatially enabled databases.

Technical expertise in database integration with complementary business systems.

Ability to support administration, troubleshooting, documentation, testing, and QA/QC of GIS data, processes, and workflows.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS degree.

7 years of experience.

Must be able to obtain a successfully adjudicated National Criminal History Check (NCHC) and National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)" and hold that for the duration of the contract.
