For over 30 years, from our 60,000 square foot facility in Syracuse, NY, VDI (Visual Display Innovations, Inc.) has been designing, manufacturing and installing internationally recognized vendor shop fixtures, POP displays, and custom signage for our clients.

Job Description Summary:

Prepares detailed working drawings and floor plans/elevations of store fixtures including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information. Responsible for maintaining inventory and overseeing production and installation by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Develops complete set of fixture layouts including demo, flooring, rcp, fixture layout and selections, electrical, elevation, and sections for shop installation and production.*

2. Produces rendering of fixtures and/or shop layouts.*

3. Submits to clients and then department stores and obtains approval of fixture layouts and fixture detail drawings to clients/department stores as required prior to production of fixtures and installation.*

4. Responsible for back-up inventory reporting by reviewing inventory spreadsheets for accuracy.*

5. Responsible for quality control of product as it is delivered to VDI, Inc.*

6. Checks over staged shops and fixtures prior to pick up for accuracy of order and quality of product.*

7. Works closely with clients to produce fixtures and shops in line with designs and budgets.*

8. Responsible for onsite supervision of project installations of top level shops and/or stores including travel.*

9. Performs site surveys to verify that fixtures being proposed will work in existing spaces.*

10. Creates assembly instructions of new fixture for warehouse and GC to use to assemble and also for installation puproses.*

11. Obtains price quotes from vendors.*

12. Issues purchase orders to vendors for production to meet the needs of a shop or inventory

13. Develops price breakdown spreadsheets for review by supervisor to review final costs to be submitted to clients for approval prior to production.*

14. Attends meetings and conference calls with clients asking questions to obtain specific information to help determine client needs.*

15. Manages fixture photo log of current and new fixture packages for distribution to warehouse and installers.*

16. Organizes and updates account folders as required ensuring that they are easy to navigate.*

17. Recommends to clients value engineering options when necessary.*

18. Obtains material samples prior to production and sends to clients for approval after inspection by supervising manager, owner, or vice president of operations.*

19. Monitors production during all phases at various vendor facilities.*

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, spreadsheet software, Mas90 AutoCAD, internet software, and order processing systems.

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34 – 40 per week
