Job Type: Full-time

Position Overview

A recognized leader in providing Information Technology, Engineering Services, Program Management, and Consulting Services to the U.S. Federal Government and Intelligence Community is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to serve as the technical anchor for a new feature/capability being added to an existing product platform.

The ideal candidate will be capable of architecting and designing new features while translating complex business requirements into robust, well-documented technical solutions. This role will work closely with members of an Integrated Feature Team (IFT) to ensure high-quality delivery throughout the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Analysis & Design

Analyze and deconstruct complex requirements to determine system impact
Lead the creation of technical design documentation using Object-Oriented (OO) principles
Ensure new features integrate seamlessly while minimizing technical debt

Technical Leadership

Serve as the feature lead for new platform capabilities
Guide features from initial concept through development, testing, and deployment
Maintain ownership of feature completion and delivery standards

Cross-Team Coordination

Act as the technical liaison with Systems Engineering teams
Coordinate on technical approaches, dependencies, and implementation constraints

Team Leadership & Task Management

Break down high-level feature designs into actionable development tasks
Manage feature status reporting for leadership
Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers

Quality Assurance

Conduct merge request (MR) reviews to maintain coding standards, security compliance, and performance benchmarks

Required Qualifications

Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
Expert-level experience with Java (Java 17+ preferred) and Spring Boot
Deep understanding of SOLID principles and Object-Oriented design patterns
Strong knowledge of REST interface standards and API best practices
Ability to communicate effectively and facilitate cross-team collaboration
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to clearly communicate architecture and design concepts
Experience writing technical documentation including wiki content, blogs, XML, and HTML documentation
