If you intend to work here for competitive pay and career advancement look elsewhere.  There is high turnover on the product production side with low pay and office/administration jobs are low paid and worked hard.

Benefits are ok, paid time off is accrued by hours every Month throughout the year and based on your time employed, so you rarely have much time at the beginning of the year.

Management is strict and not very lenient for minor in late or leave early situations that come up even when salaried.  They claim to be "family oriented" but I didn't see that.

Mainly Chinese speaking but can converse in English although somewhat hard to understand at times.  There are a few fluent English speaking Managers and Directors, but I would say Mandarin is the primary language there.

AOI is a fast-growing company, with multi-racial culture, surpassing changes and challenges of the day to day work. Vertical Integration from Semiconductor Chips to finished product Transceivers is AOI's key in being a leader in the Optoelectronics Industry. AOI gives Company-sponsored Trainings, like online Courses, Conference Lectures, and even Ping Pong. Employees enjoy the camaraderie, even at heavy work load and tight schedules.

Overall, this is a solid company to work for in the Houston area. The pay is fair. One of the strongest aspects of the workplace is the people. Colleagues are generally friendly, supportive, and easy to work with, which makes daily work much more enjoyable.

That said, the quality of management can vary quite a bit. Some teams have strong leadership and clear communication, while others struggle with direction and consistency. Because of this, the overall experience can depend heavily on which team you join.

Typical day is very easy start to finish. The work flow and systems are well engineered for a 28 year old company though some changes are definitely needed at this point. Minimum skill for operators and technicians is capability to read. The hardest part is fighting boredom. Best part is you meet people because it's a large company and you can learn a bit if they allow you to but nothing on the caliber of designing new systems or machines.

Leaderships certainly respects employees' work life balance. Benefits are very generous and provides stocks and performance bonus to almost all levels of employees. If you are willing to rollup your sleeves and get involved, there are plenty of promotion opportunities.   

Breakrooms have k-cup like coffee and often has fresh fruit for employees. 

It is good for someone who has no ambition to move forward. It is not easy to be promoted to next level or a good pay position. Restricted pay vacation even you own enough hours you are not allowed. Although most of wokers are immigrants but they can't take more then 4 weeks vacation especially for hourly workers.

I read the email and provide a response as soon as possible. At same time to arrange priority work list and monitory inventory level. If engineers have any purchasing request or quotation that needs to fulfill as well.  As team member, I also read co-worker's send out email to make sue not skip any important message.
The most enjoyable part is to cut the lowest price from vendors.

the company is good for training entry level. Working environment is also good. Not many speaking english. But mostly chinese speaking language. Company working condition is fair.

This company has been a decent workplace with both strengths and areas for improvement. The company provides a professional environment and opportunities to gain experience. The management style varies by department, and communication within the team is generally effective, though there may be occasional gaps.
