Input and ideas are not accepted from patients and staff at all levels. 
Benefits and perks are utilized by traveling management staff (i.e. directors), those who can join a Microsoft teams benefits package meetings, etc.
The number of paid time off hours are not in writing and there is no way to keep track on your own or via payroll system. 
They do not provide you with a copy of the policies and procedures for the site you work, only a general multisite one upon hire that may or may not apply to your state. This, alongside, limited communication among management, medical, and clinical staff is what leads to low staff retention and makes it difficult for patients to establish rapport with service providers in working towards their goals. Limits personal growth for all.
In facility training/in service occurs rarely due to the high staff turnover and repetitive change in schedules which makes it difficult to schedule these trainings. Limits overall performance and competence. 
Ability to make decision on own is also indicated in postings. Unfortunately, if there is not enough training or communication, this will only lead to errors in judgement and employee confusion. 



There was a lot of great training provided. Management was supportive and helpful for the most part. The counselor position was hourly thanks to Pennsylvania requirements. Overtime was not allowed. The amount of work was huge and nearly impossible to achieve within the time allotted. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the patients and the teamwork between medical and counseling departments as well as support and teamwork with other staff and the counseling team. To do this job you have to have great time management skills and lots of energy as well as abundant compassion, optimism, and patience for this very special group of patients who deserve grace and understanding. The hardest part of the job was getting up and going to work so early. Going home so early is a plus if  you can adapt to this unusual schedule. The job really should be either part time or salaried. Doing it as an hourly position is not realistic and the State of Pennsylvania needs to stop requiring it be hourly.

The best part of the job were the patients and the co-workers. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Extremely high caseloads and pressure from the supervisor who provided minimal training and minimal positive reinforcement 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The staff encourages and supports one another but there is a high level of dissatisfaction amongst the staff that leadership does not address. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It is busy due to having too many patients on your caseload and being understaffed. You leave work at the end of the mentally drained.

I love working at ARS! Our team is fantastic, and everyone genuinely works together to support each other. My supervisor is impressive—she has helped me grow professionally and always gives me the flexibility and trust to make decisions. The executive director is terrific, genuinely friendly, and sincerely cares about what's happening day-to-day. He maintains an open-door policy, making him very approachable and always available whenever I need to talk.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Most of my co-workers at that time were helpful and went above and beyond to not only help the client but also the company although that was changing when I left due to the change in management.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
All of it as job duties changed constantly.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
With my co-workers, it was great for the most part, with management, not so great.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Overworked and stressed, little time for breaks of any kind including lunch.

Early hours with 4:30/5am start times! The facility Director and staff are very supportive and although there is some infighting. Corporate is all about numbers. Spanish speaking staff stick together. Clients are long term so ample time to build therapeutic relationships. Heavy caseloads and most clients avoid coming into sessions and groups. Counselors are expected to solve that issue which is added stress. Overall good opportunity to make a positive impact in the Opioid fight. Allowed to do job for the most part due to high staff turnover and brutal start time.

Although the staff and the clinic is great to work for, caseloads are above maximum required by policy. No cap on incoming patients, ensuring that counselors will always be over the maximum. All extra duties always fall onto the counselors. You do WAY more than what is in the job description. Telehealth supervisor. But you will not find a more fun and supportive staff for the patients and the team. Birthday celebrations, company dinners and events, random lunches on the company, ect. 

Will hire out of desperation, no maternity leave, inappropriate discussions amongst management regarding employees, no support from management, unrealistic workload especially for counselors, wages are too load for workload, unrealistic goals set for employees, especially counselors, will fire you without cause then realize their mistake, sign-on bonuses to get people in the door, hire unqualified people, unethical management, no acknowledgment for a good job. Overall a dump and run company

Hardest part of my job was making sure that other people did their job.  Definitely a corporate feel.  Good on-site management.  Good goal of wanting to help clients with addictions, but the work was often complicated by clinic or state policies and guidelines.  Challenging patient population at times but a lot of the patients really appreciate the work that the staff puts in.  Hard time getting medical and clinical teams on the same page.  

I loved working at ARS. Our team was excellent and everyone worked together to help one another.  My supervisor rocked and she helped me to grow and gave me flexibility to make decisions. The executive director is awesome, genuinely friendly and concerned about what happens on a daily basis and has an open door policy so if I ever needed to talk she was approachable and available. I will miss everyone at ARS.
