A typical day at work consisted of taking on a decent amount of incoming and outgoing calls regarding services. However, a lot of changes were made over the course of two years, and other changes that were promised or wanted to be taken on at the beginning of my employment that did not receive follow through, or didn't get followed through on on schedule, with many major changes happening nearly without notice or at the last possible second. For example, shifting our business model away from Medicaid, to become more financially sustainable, has not happened, nor has updating our website to be accurate happened. We have moved nearly without notice, and had another entity move in with us twice under the same circumstances. It feels like every time there was opportunity to communicate about something beforehand, it just didn't happen. Furthermore, it has become even harder for external entities to submit a referral for services. My direct supervisor is understanding, active toward change and improvement, but it always falls on the person above them, which is where the inaction begins. Each time I have made a suggestion for improvement or have asked for support in various ways (systemically, such as updating our referral system, personally, when I asked for an accommodation) nothing happens. 

I usually was there to help my client with social skills, monitoring his health and vitals, supervising him, and being there to play and interact with him.
I really enjoyed that I could work long hours but the time flew by because for the most part it was just hanging out with him and cooking meals together. You really form a special bond when you work together with someone else for so long. I also enjoyed seeing how he would use all the helpful pointers and tips I had to help make life easier. He defiantly improved his hygiene skills, cleaning up after himself and being more responsible throughout the year that I worked with him. Some days it was really emotionally hard to deal with constantly watching him and dealing with his bad behavior, but I wouldn't trade working with him for anything.

m a client of theirs right now, but they are dropping me July 7 because they are not family oriented my situation is unique assistance with all physical thing and I am a single mother obeen with Accra For 3 years Then some drama happened with one of my PCs and they sent me a letter and said they are no longer my company but I think it’s a bunch of baloney that a mother has to be separated from her children in order to get care.  I wasn’t asking for them to come baby sit my children I was asking for assistance if I needed it. That’s what I thought they were there for to make my life  If I was physically able I would be doing all of these things by myself anyway so I don’t see the problem there wasn’t a problem for three years up until just a couple days ago like I had said. I have enough to deal with I should not have to deal with this too I deserve to have a life like everyone around and I deserve to have  Quality of life as well. That’s what they should be all about without the clients  they would not be in business. Sorry everybody needs to know.

Working for Accra is hit or miss. Depending on who you get hired to work for in home, I'm sure the job varies drastically. My experience has been poor, and higher-ups weren't interested in helping me. Also had a lot of issues where my timecards were being submitted on time, but for some reason Accra would forget ONLY my timecard and my paycheck would arrive anywhere from 2-4 days late, and when I would call to ask I often would have to call 10+ times to finally get a hold of someone. Leaving a message rarely gets a response. Really difficult to handle when you live paycheck to paycheck. New management is being trained in at this moment for the area that handles my paychecks, so hopefully that will be fixed, but I recently quit so I'm not sure. Be careful who you work for, but overall, it's not terrible. 

At Accra, I was a PCA for a family friend. I don't think I ever met anyone in person that worked for Accra and I was never sure who my boss was. Since I personally knew the guardian of my client, I reported to her which was great because it was very independent and I did not have to worry about anyone corporate getting back to me. My client was very high functioning so I mostly helped him with personal hygiene and social skills which was a rewarding experience. The hardest part of the job was whenever I had to email/community with management which was only a handful of times. Since I never met with anyone in person, I was unsure who to contact. My personal experience may not be accurate for other employees.

I work out of the clients house so I would get there in the morning when the mom had to leave for work and would leave when the next caretaker got to the house. The times that the next caretaker would get there always seems to change depending on the day, which is the hardest part of the job. The best part of the job would be working with the clients and seeing them change and learn throughout my time there, it is always rewarding when they accomplish something they have been trying to do for awhile.

Starting this company, I thought that they would at least give some type of help with reminders. As I have learned, the only thing this company help with is paying you. Why? They are choice care company. You have to know the difference when picking PCA agencies. You have to know exactly how to fill out the time cards. Any little mistake, and they will have you do a new one. You have to keep up with how many hours you have, when assessments are do, versus PCA agencies I'm used to, they help you keep track of everything they are supposed to keep up with. So just a heads up, if this is the career field you are exploring or want to explore, do your research and make sure your client/s know the difference also.

An average day with these children is never what you think. These children will make every day different, and that's what makes it exciting, yet overwhelming. As for my co-workers, I don't exactly see them. There's no need to have more than one PCA at a time. One of the most frustrating parts of my job, is that the parents are almost always there. So, even when my job position entails me being in charge of the children and making sure they do what they're told, I'm over ruled by their parents. Sometimes, it feels like I shouldn't even be there.
The best part of my job, however, is the pay. I get full-time hours for $12.83 an hour! That's including paid holidays and vacation days.

A typical day as being a PCA for a quad for a client, can be somedays stressful due to my clients behavior towards us workers. I have learned to stay calm in stressful situations and deal with stressful situations as best as possible. The time you manage working at the clients house, making sure everything is done to my client's needs and for the next shift to be ready for. My co-workers are the best, they all pull their own weight on keeping the client's house maintained well and up to beat. The hardest part of my job is dealing with my client when he drinks and gets high. The most enjoyable part of my job is helping someone.

to do do not followed by instruction what to do, what do not to do.  Clients was happy  to see 
very quality  performance of any job. Clients liked  responsible and honest work done from me  as  PCA.  In shortly word, each of my client was happy  by care about them that I did .  It  my performance created them  happy of getting  support they wanted, they loved.  The my support helped clients recovery from illness more quickly .     I really  enjoy my work as PCA
