I’m very happy here, Acentria has been very good to me and many others throughout the company. Management is great and very accommodating. My co-workers are supportive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. 

Acentria has a very great support system throughout the company. They provide all the tools/resources you need to be successful. They make it very easy for you to take advantage of all the experience within Acentria and the team. 

My manager is very supportive of me. I started working at entry level many years ago. She and Upper management had the confidence in me and encouraged me to pursue my insurance career. Everyone was willing to help me expand my knowledge of the insurance world. 

I love working here, really I do. The owners are great people and really care about their employees. which I have seen firsthand. When everything started happening with COVID they were quick to respond. To help keep everyone safe, they quickly set us up to work from home. They didn’t cut staff, our hours or our pay. 

Overall good experience  is wonderful place to work 
The leaders and upper management sincerely want all employees to succeed and grow.  In my experience, they’re welcoming, open and approachable. Acentrias' culture is fun and engaging. Rewarding and flexible, with a focus on employee well-being, and a work life balance. We work hard, but we also have a lot of fun in and out of the office.  

 I'm so glad I've found a home at Acentria and I would highly recommend this company to others. It's a great place to work.


FRP was a company I once believed operated like a family. Though everyone took their work seriously, there was always chemistry and a level of compassion that bypassed a regular work environment. That belief changed for me on February 19th, 2021. I was let go in a very cold manner. The week I was let go, was the same week that Texas suffered the great winter storm. People loss everything, personally my family went through it as well. Mentally I was going through a lot, and then come Friday of that very same week. The temp agency calls me to let me know my contract will not be extended and in fact, that day was my last. No notice, no warning, no prior conversation. My FRP ``Family” threw me out like garbage and didn’t care to even speak to me. After the call from my temp agency, while I was still working. I noticed that I was being logged out of everything. I no longer had access to anything. That’s how I was fired. No compassion, not even a heads up so I could find another job. Nothing. To the management at FRP, treat people with respect and decency. If you’re going to fire someone. Tell them ahead of time. I’m human, not trash. To future employees, my experience wasn’t all bad. I meet nice people, but if you’re not related to a higher-up...proceed with caution.Nepotism, and favoritism are very prevalent. Also, this company does not pay well for the work you are doing. I worked in the IT depot and raises were nonexistent. 

I was deeply dedicated to my role, my team, and the company as a whole. I gave it my all. So when I was approached by leadership and told, “the company is going in a different direction, and we’re letting you go,” it was a shock.

Earlier in the year, I noticed a shift—a silence from leadership that felt unusual. I assumed they were dealing with internal challenges as they had before. But as a Black man, watching the wave of DEI-related layoffs unfold across industries, I couldn't help but question the deeper meaning behind their “new direction.”

Weeks later, I saw my same position posted publicly. It made me pause and wonder what this “new direction” really meant—and whether I had simply served a temporary purpose for appearances' sake.

Despite the abruptness, I genuinely loved working there. I built relationships, grew professionally, and took pride in my work. I also remembered advice I once received: “Never let one company be your only source of income.” That mindset paid off. Because of my multiple income streams, I’ve had peace, time with family, and the ability to move forward without panic.

To anyone reading this: never assume job security, especially in this department. If you’re a person of color, you already know that sometimes, your presence is appreciated only when it serves a broader agenda.

I’m grateful for the experience, but I’m moving on wiser and more empowered than ever.



Not a good place for someone who is a highly experienced professional. The level of inconsistency of process between producers is unbelievable. You will be told by management to not do something and then the producer tells you otherwise. When you go against the producer they complain and then you are made to feel like you aren't doing your job by management. Some employees come and go as they please without notifying anyone in their department, but those that are in the office are expected to pick up their slack without question. If you have a broad knowledge base, expect to be dumped on with the excuse that no one else knows how to do it. When you ask for help from management you will be told to figure it out on your own as they either don't have the knowledge, resources or desire to help you. Don't make suggestions or provide your opinion even when asked for it, because you will be marked as a trouble maker with a bad attitude. One of the most unprofesssional and disorganized places I have ever worked in.

Talk is cheap when it is not followed up with action. Middle management talks a good game to get you in the door, but does not demonstrate what they preach. If you are newer to the industry and don't come in with any comparative experience, a desire to advance your career, or ideas to better the workplace or processes, you should be fine. When asked for honest feedback do not give it. You will be marked as a disruptor with a poor attitude, If you want autonomy in your work, this is not the place to be. You will be micromanaged to a degree of ridiculousness, regardless of your experience and abilities. Promises will be made to you on a regular basis only to not be fulfilled. You will not be provided resources or key information to do your job and then be ridiculed for not acting in a manner that is consistent with what they want.

When COVID-19 closed the country in March 2020, insurance was deemed an essential service and was not required to shut down.  Acentria Insurance did not follow that recommendation; instead - they sent everyone home with all of their computer equipment.   They added access to additional programs to ensure continuity of communication among our teams.  My manager had bi-weekly meetings with me, just to touch base.  My manager understood the demands of children at home and was flexible with my new schedule.  As it was safe to return to the office, my children were still at-home learners (the school remained remote learning).  My manager allowed me to continue working from home until my children returned to school.  I am very grateful for a company that did not lay me off, allowed us to work from home and extended the work-at-home to meet family demands. 

This company only cares about acquiring new agencies. They talk a big game prior to the acquisition, but follow through on nothing. They do not appreciate hard work, dedication or intelligence. If you drink the Kool aid, stop using your brain and become a puppet, they are happy to pull your strings. Executive team has no clue what they’re doing, they actually make derogatory comments about staff members to other staff and strategically tear down every agency that they buy. The don’t fire people but they are good at making people quit. If you aren’t related to an Exec or in one of their cliques, you probably won’t last long. Those that haven’t quit, are actively looking for other jobs. They also don’t care about losing clients. They run with less than 50% of needed staff to properly take care of clients needs. This company is a joke. 

This may have been the worst place I have ever worked in  my entire career. The level of micro management is not at all palatable when you are a seasoned veteran at your job with proven track record of performance. 
They DO NOT want to hear your opinion in process and procedures. If you disagree or speak your mind you become a target for upper management. In my opinion they try and phase out the long term employees and bring in younger less experienced employees so they can pay less. 
The customer service stinks for the clients and they never call people back. Lots of complaints.  No training at all for new employees and you cannot get good ones because of the minimal wage they want to offer for the position and duties to be p[performed. 
I strongly advise against working for this company. Horrible work environment. Very toxic. 

Acentria is a great company to work with. I say "with", not "for" intentionally. In any role, this is a collaborative work environment where how much you grow, or not grow, is completely up to you. Acentria is focused on clients and families. If you are a go-getter looking to join a fast growing company, this is the place for you. If you are a working parent with a good attitude who just wants to come to work with great people and at the end of the day, you're done, this is the place for you. I love seeing everyone find their place and feel confident that they can say openly what they are looking for in a job/career. Acentria also believes strongly in internal hires and career growth. If you want to do more, askn and you shall receive.

Employees are quitting left and right and are not replaced. Workloads are unbearable. Management seems to just look away and pretend nothing is wrong. In order to make it here long term you'll have to keep your thoughts and opinions to yourself. Speaking up and talking to your manager about the challenges you're facing may make you a target and earn you the label of "complainer". They wont fire you though, they'll just make your job miserable until you quit. Then they'll give your workload to your coworkers. 

Performance doesn't really matter to them so if you aren't great at your job this might be the place for you. If you're a high performer you'd be better off somewhere else.
